I had a question, why only for chess players? Don't checkers make lightning? :D
I've talked to people who play checkers - they don't mind the extra seconds :)
In chess (and other games too) there could be a way to take back a move/moves. Of course, if the opponent agrees to it. (I've had several interesting games where a bad move has resulted in me. :( )
I don't know - how many other portals have this kind of functionality?
I can't say anything about checkers, I've never played chess before, I don't know about others.
www.freechess.org there is a possibility to undo moves, of course the opponent's consent is asked
It is also possible to undo moves on games.yahoo.com, if the opponent agrees.
There could also be a possibility that in case of time pressure, you can ask for more time. (Eg. 5 minutes are added to both.) Of course, if the opponent agrees. And both could ask for more time, regardless of which one actually needs it. (In case the player in time pressure does not understand or is embarrassed to use this function.)
and in general, there could be an option to put a warning sign (for your future reference) on unpleasant users.
