Hello, We have tested tournament series in card games for one season and they have proven to be quite popular: Last year, 235 participants participated in the Tuhande tournament series held in February, 200 participants in Saskus in September, 100 participants in Bismarck in November, and 124 participants in the 4-person Perekidnoi in January. The idea arose to generalize the tournament series system a bit so that they could also be organized in board games. Format 1) A tournament series is held in one game in one month of the year. 2) There are 2 tournaments per day (at least in the case of card games). Two tournaments give the user the freedom to choose a more suitable time of day. Or participate in both. 3) Tournament points are summed up in the overall score 4) A maximum of the 25 best tournament results are taken into account. This is something to think about - maybe 20 would be enough? 5) We will reward the first six with vint.ee credit 6) Tournaments will have no rating change Prizes Today, the prize pool of one tournament series has been 750 credits. This number could depend on the number of participants: Each user's participation in one tournament adds 0.5 credits to the prize pool. With this formula, the prize pools of the Bismarck and 4-person perekidnoi tournament series would have been around 500 credits, but the saskus already has 1200 credits and the thousandth even 1500 credits, or twice as large as the current one. This comes with a few more positive aspects: * The first tournament has a prize pool of 0 and it will start to increase with each tournament in the tournament series. Exciting! * Users are more motivated to participate individually to increase the prize pool * Users may be motivated to invite friends/relatives to play so that the prize pool is larger Tournament series in board games I see that the following games could have a tournament series once a year: 1) Fischer chess 2) Brazilian checkers 3) Handover 4) Gomoku 5) Pente 6) Othello 7) Lines of Action 8) Entropy In board games, there could be one tournament per day and 20 tournaments per month would be counted. Thoughts, opinions?

The tournament series are definitely positive, but the number of participants could still be divided by at least two. Should we take into account those who have only attended up to 3 times? There are more likely to be 45-65 active tournament participants, depending on the tournaments.

tvin why do you want to belittle a player who only participated in 1 - 3 tournaments of the tournament series (some achieved very good results there)

Sorry; poorly expressed, no one wants to belittle here, I wanted to highlight active tournament players, the opening post gives the impression that a crazy crowd sits and tournaments all the time. Rather, you could already highlight the average number of tournament participants, e.g. 28-45 or whatever is actually playing at the same time. If that matters at all.

Hello, I will take up this development in the near future. Some more thoughts that I have had. A tournament series as popular as Thousand should take place more than once a year: For example, once a quarter: January, April, July, October. Sasku is also quite popular, which is why tournament series could take place twice a year: May and September. June is left for 4-Kesi perekidnoi and August for Bismarck. Do you remember a mind sports tournament series that took place a few years ago? It could be breathed back into life: we have 17 board games, and we don't have time to do a separate tournament series for each one. But we could do a checkers tournament series (with five different checkers types) once a year from Sunday to Thursday evening at 10:00 PM. I would suggest March. And we could also do a chess tournament series (with four chess games), from Monday to Thursday. For example, in February. There are still Gomoku (gomoku, Pente and Renju). It could be organized in November. And finally: the remaining 5 board games: LOA, Entropia, Othello, 4-row and stack-4d. The only free month - December. How does it feel?

Other games could also get some attention then, especially sudoku, which has quite a few enthusiasts here.

We will also do a Sudoku tournament series. Think about the format (what tournaments, how often, etc.).

1. The idea of the series is very good! 2. Should it be implemented in cycles like now or would it be more reasonable to have a mix of events and then rotate the starting hundreds. For example, on certain (weekday) days, sasku starts at 6:00 PM; tuhut at 7:00 PM; chess at 8:00 PM; Entropia, Pente, etc. at 9:30 PM, etc. The next day, at the same times, maybe in a different order, maybe the following games. The idea is that there is not only one game mode to play through the series in a row every day. Parallel to VIP tournaments. 3. How many tournaments? I would suggest that there are 24 (at first I even thought 12) competition opportunities in each game mode during the year, 36, which would mean that there would be an opportunity to participate in at least 2 tournaments in each area every month, and 3 for VIPs. . From these 24, 4 worse results can be deducted, VIPs then 16, and based on their 20 best results during the year, the best of each game of the year is created. In this case, both newcomers and old players can join each series. Tuhat is really popular, but the proportion of 90 (93)(playable) : 30(31)(countable) is still too much. In series competitions, it would be normal to leave somewhere around 20% as a so-called buffer; for those with health reasons, for those who do not have the time, etc. 4. From the point calculation. In the tournament system, the absolute score in card games is clear and understandable, which of course could be improved, taking into account the number of participants in each competition, or by adding a so-called place component, which would give, for example, a little extra when reaching the top 10-15, perhaps a certain % of the absolute score points: 1st place 20%, 2nd place 17%, 3rd place 14% and then from 4th (12%) to 1st. It would still generate more interest in getting ahead, not leaving tournaments unfinished, etc. In chess, checkers, etc., of course, there can only be a place point system, the question is simply whether to value the top three more or not and whether, for example, 15th place with 20 participants is better than the same place with 30 participants!? 5. In some areas, so-called super finals or also A and B finals could be created, where the final top eight would be played out. In Holdem, for example, it's simple: The top 6 of the year come to the final table with their proportional stacks and the final decision takes place there. Finally. Of course, with such an idea, a thorough calendar plan must be drawn up so that the participants can choose in advance where to participate and plan their time. 1 month (towards the end of the year) could be left for so-called error correction, where everyone can then tune those series where there is more hope. The idea is that if someone cannot participate for certain reasons, for example, for a month in a row, then they also have opportunities. The schedule/calendar plan does not have to be uniform in terms of games, you could also take into account the seasons :D . Anyway, good luck with organizing!

I would also add to what Rava said, etc., perhaps taking the idea even further. I would suggest that each month there would be series in all the games mentioned above. The first 10 days of the month could have two tournaments a day, in 10 days you can record the results of the 20 games Rava offered. Then one tournament on the remaining 16 days, where there is then a so-called "improvement" time. In the version Rava proposed, there would be 4 opportunities for non-VIP and 16 for VIP to improve your results. This way, the series would remain in one month, with "free" days at the end of the month. I myself would have offered improvement opportunities for non-VIP and VIP a little differently, we argued with Rava, but that's it, and what Rava offered is also significantly better than the current thousand series. And then do it this way, so that during the 11 months of the year there are so-called regular series, where a certain number of competitors per month who are the best in the series of one month (e.g. the top three, the next month the top three who did not make it into the top three last month, etc.) could then participate in a so-called "elite series" at the end of the year, where the "best" three players of the month, or a total of 33 best players after 11 months, would compete against each other based on the same system. It would perhaps be even more interesting to have the series(s) summarized for the year. This way, the best of the month and the best of the year could also be highlighted. In addition, it would create motivation to participate in the series every month in order to reach the "elite series" by the end of the year. At the end of the year, the "free" days would be at Christmas and on the last day of the year, so that you could still be with family and friends, etc. I would also suggest so-called "free" days in the series in the middle of the year, in addition to resting a little and boosting your tone. This way, the series would be relatively uniform, etc. And I would also remember how things work and when I should participate somewhere, etc. Each game has its own time, rather let each game have its own specific times every day and you choose which game you focus on because not everyone knows all the games. Speaking of the prize pool, the prize pool for the regular series would be a little smaller, while the elite series would have a bigger one.
