The World Championship in renjus will be held in the Czech Republic from 3 to 13 August. The qualifying tournament has now been completed, from which 5 players made it to the final in addition to the 7 previously selected renjus players. In the qualifying tournament, the Estonians were represented by Renee Pajuste (vindis chaos), who took 20th place among 27 participants, collecting 3 points out of 7 possible. One more vindi player played - the Polish Adrian Fitzermann (adifek) remained 19th. The final line-up is as follows: Tunnet Taimla (golden vindi), Andry Purk (both Estonia); Shigeru Nakamura, Hiroshi Okabe and Takayuki Ono (all Japan); Vladimir Sushkov, Mikhail Kozhin and Maksim Karasjov (all Russia); Wu Di and Cao Dong (China); Ondrej Nykl (Czech Republic) and Chen Ko Han (Taiwan). In my opinion, the favorites are Nakamura, Sushkov, Wu Di, Taimla and Cao Dong. Unfortunately, two very strong Estonian players are not present - four-time world champion Ando Meriteed and last year's comet Aivo Olli. The final starts tomorrow, you can follow the results on http://www.piskvorky.cz or renju.net. In parallel, the women's World Championship tournament is taking place, where Estonia is represented by Madli Mirme (nuffu) Ants, the competition judge
