Choosing the best is definitely not possible if participants can start with different ratings; everyone should be able to start from the same point. Something like a reggae, if anyone dares, even 1400 are willing to start and the best will play themselves out even among the not-so-best. If you want to get the title of the best, then support this idea!! We need 20 likes and something will change!! Maybe next year!

When resetting the rating, about 300 games should be played in each game type for the result to be adequate. And it would take half a year to play a total of 1200 games. Who would be willing to participate in such a competition? I looked at last year's top three and the total number of games played (in four games): 1) direktor - 9600 2) rayman - 2800 3) Ken112 - 2700 Only after such a number of games will the best come out. It is not possible to reset the ratings, play all 30 games and then the best one wins. That would be a pure lottery. It works in chess but not in card games. I've seen users here who have played 2,000 Sasku games but still have a rating of 1,100 - well, that's not how you become the best card player in Estonia.

The word lottery came up, that's why it's not right to start with different ratings. Could it be different in the future, maybe like a VIP tournament where the rating doesn't change but points are collected? Or whatever. For example, if someone is a good player but doesn't want to chase the rating all the time, but is interested in participating in Vindi (the best card player in Estonia, as you even mentioned then, it's pure lottery and it's not possible, you said. Anyway, I think it could be different somehow. Purely my opinion.

Since Meikop is organizing this tournament, we will play according to its rules. Next year, someone could organize a tournament "The Best Drunk Card Player in Estonia", give out prizes and establish rules. I also qualify to participate in this tournament. I am waiting for the tournament organizer!

It doesn't matter much whether to reset the rating or not. The rules are equally fair to everyone and favor more skilled players. In one case, those who can win more games will have an advantage. In the other case, those who currently have a higher rating will have an advantage. Resetting the rating would save those players who have played for less than a year and whose rating is unfairly low. Everyone else has a chance to grab a good starting position (or advantage) right now. In other words, the competition is already going on now, it's just that the countdown to 30 will start in a while. PS. This doesn't mean that I agree with the current scheme for choosing the "best". I have also shared my thoughts last year and learned from it.

I am not willing to reset the rating, because I am not participating anyway (Best card player in Estonia)
