You have probably heard of a game called mancala. Would it be possible to somehow implement this game in Vinti? I would be interested and would play it myself... Please comment :)
So, fish?
Those who are more knowledgeable could also give a brief overview of the game here, without having to go searching online.
Kalah is a game where each player has 6 containers and one nest. The nest is located on the player's right hand. Each container contains, for example, 6 "buttons" (originally "seeds"). Players start to lift these so-called buttons into the next containers/nests (including the opponents'). When a portion of grains has been lifted, it is the opponent's turn. The opponent is caught when the last grain you placed falls into your nest. Then you get a new turn. The game is won by the one who has the most 'buttons' in their nest at the end of the game. There is also an additional rule that if the last grain falls into your empty container, then this grain also goes into the nest all of the opponent's grains in that exact nest. These are roughly the rules if nublu thought of the same game. PS You can also change the number of buttons that are in one container
Can you play it online? Vinti could bring mind games that aren't really available elsewhere online...
www.playok.com (kurnik) there is this
Yes, I thought about that game. And the winner was probably the one who had the most pieces at the end of the game, maybe even the ones that were still in the bowls... But I think it's an interesting game:) And I only know of one place where you can play it... www.playray.co.ee
There used to be a game called bantumi on Nokia mobiles. That's where my interest in this game started. I'd never heard of Kalahi before :p. It's a pretty cool game, really. But I'm afraid there's no point in bringing this up. Mancala is the name of a 'family' of this game, by the way. Depending on the region and the specific rules, it has different names. You can read on Wikipedia that similar "seed" games have also been played in Finland, probably also in Estonian areas.
Hello! I am in full support of adding mancala to the game. This game requires guessing and is at the same time fun and entertaining. I play mancala myself with great pleasure. I know this ee.playforia.com While researching the history of the game, I also found an interesting connection with Estonia. The first traces of this game date back to the 6th-7th century in Africa, in the current areas of Eritrea and Ethiopia. So it has been played for at least 1300 years. Mancala has several variations and names, depending on the place where it is played, it is believed that the game has also been influenced by Asia. The game may have reached Europe in the 17th century, when English merchants started playing it. However, the game has not yet achieved great popularity, except in the Baltic areas, where it was known as "Bohnenspiel". The German Fritz Jahn popularized the game. In 1908, he visited Baron von Stackelberg's manor in Estonia. There he discovered a copy of the game board, which is still in the Hermitage Museum in St. Petersburg. The original had been a gift to Tsarina Catherine the Great from the Persian Shah. Analysis of the game rules suggests that the game originated from the Central Asian and Arabian mancala games. Bohnenspiel has the same rules as the classic Turkish mancala. The similarity to the African mancala games is probably coincidental. Today, the game is popular in East Germany and Kazakhstan.
This game would probably have so few players that it wouldn't be worth making. I'm moving this topic to the "Mind Games" forum.
