posted by Libahunt If I, for example, offer someone a draw, then the opponent's time is running out and if he has, for example, 10 seconds until the end of the game, he will definitely lose time. But if we do it so that if I, for example, offer the opponent a draw and he does not run out of time (so that he can see if he is willing to accept a draw in this situation), then he can look ahead several moves. This is where my idea comes from, when I offer the opponent a draw, he has 10 seconds to make his decision about the draw. If he does not choose to accept the draw or not within this time, then time will simply start running forward.
at the same time, these draw offerers only offer a draw when they are in a certain losing position, if it is really a draw, then it will be accepted the first time. And if you implement your idea, it may be that they will stay playing, offer a draw, then have 10 seconds to think about the draw and at the same time think about the next move... but guess what...

Then the opponent can think. Because a draw can be offered on the opponent's move. You can't think yourself.

There used to be a better system. Sometimes it's just impossible to offer a draw during your opponent's move. It happens so quickly and it's impossible for me to offer a draw. In my opinion, you should still be able to offer a draw during your move.

But that's not according to the rules of chess!

I was playing chess and offered my opponent a draw, he decided not to accept it and gave up. After that move he said it was a draw. The user's name was Turroturro
