At the 29th Pentamind World Championships held in London from August 17 to 25, Estonians won gold medals in both the overall and women's categories.

Andres Kuusk was crowned the overall world champion, securing his seventh World Championship title with a score of 506.1 points. The competition culminated in a dramatic finish – Hong Kong's Tung Yat Cheng remained in contention for the gold medal until the last game of the last event, but eventually had to settle for the silver medal, losing by only 3.5 points. The bronze medal was won by Frenchman Nicolas Wittmann (485.1 points).

In the women's event, gold was won by Madli Mirme , who achieved the best result of her career so far – 445.1 points. This gave her 13th place overall and her fifth world women's championship title. The silver medal went to defending champion Natasha Regan (435.6, Great Britain), and bronze went to Seoyun Kim (374.7, South Korea), who is competing in the junior class.

In the junior category, the top three were Mario Hernandez Concepcion (418.6, Spain), Seoyun Kim and Seoyul Kim (339.4, South Korea). In the senior category, Juan Francisco Garcia de la Banda (433.3, Spain) won, followed by Marc Tastet (410.1, France) and Dario de Toffoli (386.8, Italy).

At the Mind Games Pentathlon World Championship, each participant plays around 15–20 disciplines over 8 days, with the 5 best results counted. The program includes all the most popular mind games – chess, checkers, poker, backgammon, Carcassonne and Catan – as well as several newer and increasingly popular disciplines, such as Azul and Quoridor.

The 30th World Pentathlon Championships will also be held in London in 2026.
