The Estonian Mind Sports Championship in pairs took place in Tallinn over the weekend. Traditionally, there were five disciplines: sudoku, chess, bridge, gomoku and checkers. There were 28 participants, or 14 pairs. The winners were Rauno Pärnits, a well-known crossword and logic puzzle maker, and Andres Kuusk, who won a silver medal at the Mind Sports World Championship. Tiit Vunk, one of the fastest sudoku solvers in Estonia (and the world), and Marten Meikop, the founder of the Estonian Mind Sports portal, took second place. With this, they repeated last year's achievement. Ants Soosõrv, a promoter of Estonian gomoku life, and well-known poker player Marek Kolk exchanged last year's gold for bronze this year. Winners of the disciplines: Sudoku and Checkers - Marten Meikop and Tiit Vunk Chess - Rauno Pärnits and Andres Kuusk Bridge and Gomoku - Ants Soosõrv and Marek Kolk The best female pair was crowned by Kertu Luht, a promoter of gomoku in Põlva County, and Kaari Vainonen, one of the best female checkers in Estonia.
