Hello, We have been organizing tournament series for half a year now and have learned a lot from it. Until now, I lived with the idea that there are 12 months in a year and therefore 12 tournament series are held in Vind. Actually, this is not a good idea. And the reason is very simple - tournament series are not mutually exclusive, i.e. they can take place at the same time. A simple example: Chess players do not come to play nails and Sudoku solvers do Fischer chess, for example. A lot has also been said about the format - the same tournament every evening for 30 days in a row. Tiring? The Russian checkers tournament series proved very well that it is not tiring. The question is in focus. If a person knows that they can play an exciting checkers tournament series every evening in November, they will remember it and will be there in the evenings. If, for example, this were to be divided into 3 tournaments a week over 10 weeks, I am sure that people's days would get confused and there would be fewer participants overall. But it probably works if the tournament lasts 1-1.5 hours. Poker could be an exception here. Poker tournaments can last 2.5-3 hours and playing that much every night for a month would be too much. With poker, we are trying this 3 days a week / 10 weeks format. And in general - you never know until you try. So I have decided to try to organize tournament series this year in the following games: Mind games 1) Chess 2) Fischer chess 3) Russian checkers 4) International checkers 5) Surrender 6) Gomoku 7) Pente 8) Taraguchi Renju 9) Sudoku 10) Crosswords 11) Mixed board games Card games 1) Gentlemen 2) Nails 3) Podkidnoi 4) Bismarck 5) 4-person perekidnoi 6) Sasku 7) Tuhat 8) Poker Total 19 tournament series per year. How do I fit them into my calendar now? One option is to set mind games to start at 8:00 PM and card games to start at 9:00 PM. Mind games can last longer than an hour, but card games should definitely end in an hour (the freeroll starts at 10:00 PM). Fortunately, there are plenty of card game tournaments and I can play around with the number of rounds a bit (for example, 18 rounds instead of 20 in a nail tournament). By month, it could look like this: 1) January - Gomoku 2) February - Board Games Tournament Series and Poker starts 3) March - International Checkers and Crosswords 4) April - Taraguchi Renju and Sasku 5) May - Giveaway and 4-person Perekidnoi 6) June - Thousand 7) July - Nails 8) August - Podkidnoi 9) September - Fischer Chess and Bismarck 10) October - Russian Checkers and Gentleman 11) November - Chess and Pente 12) December - Sudoku We will organize a tournament series in all these games for one round and then it will be clear which ones are viable and which ones are not. How does it feel?

I would personally support the option of having a tournament series throughout the year, not just once a week or every other week. The Russian checkers tournament showed that finding time to play every evening away from family is still very burdensome and tiring, and I definitely wouldn't play it again.

A thousand tournament series could take place every night and for a whole year in a row (365 or 366 days)

I've been saying this all the time that it's not suitable!! You can think of all sorts of thoughts, but vint.ee is not some ultra/extra sports site! Checkers really were pressed for time and probably the most skilled board game, even for those who don't know checkers :) . If you keep any records (in a so-called sporting sense), you've never heard of a competition at a certain time for 30 days in a row. Some who might want to play can't take part, for example, because of work or vacation or something like that. I still don't believe that the users here have such poor memory or ability to organize themselves that they can't hit their favorites in a rotating system. We are finally living in the digital age and also the year of digital culture and vint could probably, for example, even remind VIPs with messages/notifications or something like that when the next competition in their area is coming up. If the calendar plan were ready, people would find their own games. The idea of series competitions is that during the year, based on some normal criteria, the best in different disciplines would be determined, I emphasize that during the year or even during the season, but not as a super ultra triathlon or the like. Such competitions can be organized if interested, but in reality this is not a normal series competition. 12 proper tournaments a year and the best 9-10 in the calculation, or once a month, each discipline would get a slightly more proper competition! The system actually almost exists, or Vint.ee's official VIP tournaments in different disciplines every day, right? Just once a month, the same competition would be the one that would be included in the Series calculation. Specifically, the time format and number of rounds could be changed on that day so that the tournament would be of higher quality and of course all users could participate. The times have also been worked out. In card games (at least in some), however, a coefficient should be used, which takes into account the number of participants to some extent. After all, quality is still important, not quantity!

The system proposed by Meikop also suits me, because from December to April I have winter break and then I don't participate in the series but tour Latvia. After that, when I'm rested, I can play in the series again.

Vint currently organizes official tournaments in probably every game mode and VIP tournaments. There is no need to think of any separate series here, except for, for example, a series of multi-competition competitions in mind games. Some of them just need to be "adjusted" to a better format and then counted as a certain number of series competitions per year! Some examples: 1) Chess: 19.00 (daily) 5 2 change once a month to either 10 5 or 15 0 and keep records in a rapid chess series (7 rounds). The tournament is long, but once a month is still possible! Blitz series records can be done 2 times a month (instead of 22.00, of course the time is too late!): 1 time with a time of 3 2 and the second time with 5 0 (maybe increase the number of rounds) or 24 per year, of which the best 18 are counted. 2) Thousand: Weekly VIP tournament once a month for everyone, but 15-17 rounds (20 is a lot), then 9 out of 12 will count the same. I have played them the most, but let the experts speak about specific ways of playing. If you add something, it would be great, but this option would be the simplest and like a "running" calculation. The tournaments that are included in the calculation do not have to be on the same day or at the same time in each month. You can freely inform the Vint team about which series tournaments are coming up on a specific day, week or month. Card games could have a separate tournament rating; in some board games, you could even have 2 strength groups.

There is a simple solution to the swamp palm problem. In popular games (or in all games), VIP users could be given the opportunity to organize tournament series. Vint has created a platform where you can specify the dates of the series stages, the number of rounds, and all other necessary criteria, and Meikop's task is to either approve the series if everything is in order or reject it if there is a conflict with other series (time overlap or a similar series is already underway, etc.). And Vint would start organizing series in those games where no one wants to organize a series. How do you imagine this notification from Vint? What would this change in the tournament rating? In the end, the stronger players still have a higher rating than the weaker ones. Strength groups? A stronger player who constantly plays with the stronger players may have a lower rating than a schoolchild who has mainly played himself blue or black with mental sports Olympiad tournaments, and there is still a possibility of resetting the rating.

VIPs can organize any kind of tournaments, even for the so-called chosen ones, and name them whatever they see fit, but each VIP has no ties to professional associations and cannot finance prize places or the organization. My only problem is that it somehow doesn't make sense to organize one area for 30 days in a row and at a certain time of day and then call it the tournament series of the year! Strength groups could and would make sense to distinguish if there are at least 20 players per day on average in a certain area, for example, chess, checkers, sudoku. It would perhaps be an incentive for the weaker or younger ones. No one (there are exceptions, maybe there are some) will specifically play themselves so-called "under the blue" in order to appear "as a gentleman" in a lower league. Notification in this environment, but for a certain fee you could receive them as a subscription in your user messages here or -why not- to your personal email, although there is no particular need for this. By tournament rating I meant more some (card) games where the rules of the single game are slightly different than in tournament play. The current series without a rating change is because otherwise there would be a lot fewer participants; by those who "sit" in the golden cage at the top of their rating.

It turned out that not all 30 were counted. It is possible to skip a few days without any problems.

I don't want to play in a series for a year and wait for a prize to finally come and get the credit. If I could get prize money every month, that would be cool. I think many people agree with me. Rabapalm could organize a tournament series himself with rules that suit him and set the prize at, for example, 1,000 euros. Maybe players will come there too. Of course, he should transfer the prize money to Vint's account before the series starts.
