You can still participate today. If you haven't participated, be sure to do so. There are also many classics, so there is enough to solve for everyone. 6 6x6 sudoku 5 9x9 classic sudoku 1 special-shaped sudoku 1 toroid, which is like a special-shaped one, but the 3x3 areas go over the edge of the game board and appear on the other side 1 samurai, where there are 4 6x6 special-shaped ones put together at the corners much more exciting. So be sure to take advantage of the opportunity to collect points in the competition, and above all for a good experience.

The preliminary rounds of the Sudoku Grand Prix are now over. Among the results of the 8th GP, you can find Rauno Pärnitsa's 81st place and Margit Ooli's 85th place. So far, as far as I know, there have been very few double-digit places among Estonians, but now there are 2 new ones in the top 100. This certainly raised the place of both of them in the GP overall standings. More about this when the official results after the 8th GP are released as a combined table. The results of the 8th GP are here: http://logicmastersindia.com/2013/06S2/score.asp At the 8th GP, there was a bit more fuss about Tripod Sudoku, which gave 20 points in the competition (fairly mediocre), but was arguably the most difficult task. Only 8 competitors were able to solve it correctly, which obviously shows that the difficulty of the task has been very incorrectly assessed. I spent officially 22 minutes on Tripod, unofficially about 25 minutes, because I started trying it halfway through the competition, but I gave up after trying it for a while. At the 92nd minute, I entered all my answers except for Tripod, and it seems that this is the best time without taking this task into account. However, since it took so long to solve it, I still landed in a very good 5th place overall. In response to Driv4r, online solving was allowed this time, but with a small concession - tight fit and tripod sudoku had to be solved on paper, because it is difficult to create a suitable environment for solving online. I didn't get here yesterday, so I was a little late with this answer. As I said, I will post the final results soon (when they are officially announced).

The final results have finally been published. http://www.worldpuzzle.org/files/35/WPF_GP-final results after 8GP_v02.pdf Everyone can find their own, but let it be said that 14 Estonians participated and Estonians can be found on quite a few pages. So we are in a good position :) In the Beijing final, there will be 3 competitors from Asia and 7 from Europe. My place should officially be 3rd, not 2nd, because with my one 1st and one 3rd place, I can't compete with the one 1st and two 3rd places of the Japanese. The main thing is that I made it to the final and with a completely respectable result.

Interesting statistics: Sudoku Grand Prix 2013 1. There were 8 different winners in 8 stages of the Sudoku Grand Prix. It strongly reminds me of the beginning of the last Formula 1 season :) 2. The best worst place in the Sudoku GP belongs to Hideaki Jo from Japan, whose worst result is 12th place. The same result was achieved by Nikola Zivanovic from Serbia, who participated in 7 stages. I was third with 13th place. 3. There are 10 Japanese among the top 50, or every 5th is Japanese. Next are 6 Czechs and 4 Americans 4. The best southern neighbor, a Latvian, got 383rd place. The best northern neighbor, a Finn, got 97th place. The best eastern neighbor, a Russian, got 459th place. The western neighbors, the Swedes, did not participate at all. The Estonians gave their neighbors a long time to play. 5. The best competitor who had to settle for 1 point in one round was Jan Zverina from the Czech Republic, who ultimately finished in 52nd place. 6. A total of 774 competitors participated in the Sudoku GP, all of whom solved at least one sudoku correctly. 7. The best participant who did not participate in even three rounds was Chen Cen from China, who ultimately finished in 50th place, and Rishi Puri from India, who missed four rounds, who ultimately finished in 75th place. Both were impressive achievements, considering that they had to settle for a few zeros.
