Vello Luht is a chess and checkers champion

The Lääne-Virumaa Open Championship (unofficial Estonian Championship) was won by former Estonian Russian Checkers champion Vello Luht with 17.5 points out of 22 possible in the chess-checkers complex competition. Last year's winner Gert Elmaste was only half a point behind and won the silver medal. The best Virumaa resident was Eino Vaher, a multiple medalist in mind games at the EMV. Next year, official Estonian MVs will be held in this field.
