The Sudoku GP has started. It is an online competition consisting of 8 rounds, where the best 6 results from each of the 8 rounds count.
This weekend, the first round will be held in Japan, with four-time world champion Kota Morinishi among the authors.
The competition instructions are here: https://gp.worldpuzzle.org/content/instruction-booklet
You have 90 minutes to complete the round. You must solve as many tasks as you can in this time. If you manage to solve all the tasks within the time limit, you can get a time bonus (10 points/minute).
The tasks must be printed out and the answers entered in the lines indicated by the arrow. There is a form on the competition website that can be filled out and the answers to the tasks entered in the corresponding lines.
The entire competition is online and unlimited, and you can test yourself against hundreds of solvers from around the world. It's also a great practice tool to improve your sudoku solving skills.
If the World Championship is held this year, the top 10 solvers will be invited to a final held at the same time as the World Championship. If the World Championship is not held, the ranking will be decided based on an online competition.

Preliminary results are out:

From there, select "preliminary results". When the results become official, click "official results".
There were quite a few Estonians participating. 21 participants is not bad at all for our small country.
For example, there were 6 Latvians, 3 Finns, 4 Swedes (surprisingly many for a Swede), and 11 Russians. Estonia is definitely a sudoku country!
