The Mind Sports Pentathlon for pairs took place again at Karepa over the weekend.
The plan included five areas:
- Sudoku
- Russian checkers
- Bridge
- Fischer chess
- Gomoku
13 couples gathered to compete.
There were no surprises in Sudoku, and the pair Tiit Vunk (two-time world champion in Sudoku solving) and Marten Meikop won.
In Russian checkers, the pair Meikop & Vunk also won, which has become more of a tradition in recent years. It is also worth noting that Tiit, who played on the 2nd board, did not give up a single point!
In bridge and Fiscer chess, Marek Kolk & Andres Kuusk took the expected victory with confidence.
And the second day of play ended with a color change in gomoku, which was won by Kuno Kolk and Martin Hõbemägi .
Andres Kuusk and Marek Kolk won the overall standings convincingly, collecting 154 points. Marten Meikop and Tiit Vunk won second place with a minimal advantage (0.5 points!) , collecting 143 points, and Kuno Kolk and Martin Hõbemägi came in third with a strong final sprint, collecting 142.5 points.

We thank everyone for participating (and encourage other mind sports enthusiasts to participate next year).
And of course, thanks to Ants Soosõrvu , who tirelessly organizes this competition every summer as part of the Karepa Mind Games Camp!
Have a nice summer!
