At the Estonian Municipalities Winter Games held in Lähte over the weekend, Rae municipality came first in Russian checkers with 89 points, consisting of Arvo Koppel, Jüri Hermann, Kaari Vainonen, Veronika Pikkel, Joanna Sild. Kiili municipality came second with 72 points, consisting of Urmo Ilves, Imre Anton, Helina Rajasalu, Riivo Rohi, Kärt Ilja. Tartu was third with 69 points, narrowly beating Palamus in the last round. Tartu was played by Algo Laidvee, Enno Eerma, Anita Seppa, Simo Jaanus, Lembi Kaasik. The winners of the boards: M1 - Urmo Ilves M2 - Enno Eerma N - Kaari Vainonen P - Veronika Pikkel T - Joanna Sild In total, 17 municipalities were represented, with a total of 85 participants, including the semi-finals. At the Estonian Cities Winter Games held in Tapa at the same time, Jõgeva came first with 38 points. Paide came second with 37 points, Kärdla third with 35.5 points. Teams from 11 cities with 55 participants were represented in the final. Estonian rural games have been held since 1965 under the auspices of the Estonian Sports Association Jõud.
