The Estonian selection tournament for the World Championship of Rendju, which will take place in Sweden in August, has ended. 1. Aivo Oll (aivs11111) 8.5 2. Tunnet Taimla (kuldne) 7.5 3. Ants Soosõrv 7 4. Martin Hõbemägi (matu97) 3.5 5. Renee Pajuste (chaos) 2.5 6. Villem Mesila (Est) 1 Aivo and Tunnet qualified directly for the World Championship final tournament among the top 12. Ants, Martin and Renee still have to try to get through the international selection tournament, which will be held in Sweden immediately before the World Championship. Anyone who wishes can go to the international selection tournament for the Gomoku World Championship, which will take place at the same time. Hopefully, the best Estonians - allever, Johann, ain1234, felipe, fantunes and Tiidu, Esti, Kris100 and others - will be able to ride. Nuffu will compete in the Women's World Championship of Rendju.

The Estonians did not do very well at the World Rowing Championships held from August 1 to 10. Men's final tournament results: 1. Cao Dong (China) 9 points (out of 11) 2. Lin Huang-yu (Taiwan)8 3. Huang Jinxian (China) 7.5 4. Vladimir Sushkov (Russia) 6.5 5. Dai Xiaohan (China) 6.5 6. Tunnet Taimla (Estonia) 6.5 7. Yuuki Oosumi (Japan) 6 8. Hiroshi Okabe (Japan) 5 9. Aivo Oll (Estonia) 3.5 10. Tord Andersson (Sweden)3 11. Sergei Artemjev (Russia) 2.5 12. Hou I-Cheng (Taiwan) 2 Tunnet commented on his game: "The quality was actually quite good, a few big mistakes were decisive" I agree with Tunnet, the level was very high at this World Cup and the most stable ones were ahead. In Tunnet's case, perhaps the lack of practice had an impact, two games, poker and renju at the top level are not easy to play. Since the top 4 players from the international selection tournament advanced and I was 2nd there, I could have also played in the final. Since I wasn't well prepared and I was exhausted, I gave my place to Taiwanese Lin, who, as you can see, did a great job as a backup :) At the Gomoku World Championship, Villem Mesila managed to reach the final. Although he came last with 2 points, 12th, he can only be praised, because Villem has only been playing gomoku and renju for less than 2 years. At the Women's World Championship, the Estonians had to settle for the last 2 places, 9th and 10th, but I am sure that next time they will show a much better level :).
