I finally posted the results of the rendžu and gomoku World Championships under the Vind events calendar. Tunnet (named Kuldne in Vind) has not been active here as a player recently, but we hope for a comeback. His victory at the World Championships cannot be considered a surprise, stable play and a bit of luck led to those 8 wins and 3 draws. Aivo Oll, who came in 8th place, is also familiar with Vind - as user aivs11111. A small comment on the performance of Martin Hõbemägi (in Vind matu97). He was a reserve player in the international selection tournament and was probably not that ready for the game. As the last player to reach the final from the selection tournament, he managed to get a nondescript 11th place out of 12 players in the final, but to take points from Tunnet's competitors - two former world champions and a Japanese megastar. We hope that he will continue to successfully introduce the Estonian level of mind game in London. At the Gomoku World Championship, Renee Pajuste (vindis chaos) took a very decent 9th place. The women's World Championship in gomoku was also held separately. Estonian Mai Narva (tigrike) played a great tournament, taking 4th place and being the only one to defeat the Russian, the world champion, Irina Metrevel.

No, what a great achievement from Tunnet Taimla! (y) I even hope to play with him here someday, so I'm not expecting Vint's comeback ;] But at the same time, Vint is apparently no longer a priority for him and he probably lacks high-quality sparring partners here...
