Dear vint.ee team!
I am writing to you regarding a long-standing concern regarding the user verification process and the associated disclosure of personal data (real name) to third parties. I would like vint.ee to review the current procedure based on the following arguments:
1. Violation of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)
According to the GDPR, the processing of personal data must be limited to what is necessary to fulfil the purpose ( data minimisation principle). ). If the purpose of verification is to prevent fraud and ensure fair play in tournaments, then this purpose is fulfilled if the vint.ee system and administrators know the user's identity. Disclosing the user's real name to other regular users is not essential to achieving this goal. It unreasonably infringes on the users' right to privacy and anonymity.
2. The right to pseudonymity
Many users (including myself as a teacher) need the ability to separate their leisure activities and professional life for professional and personal reasons. The current system, where verification (which is a prerequisite for participating in tournaments) forces disclosure of the connection between username and real name, is harassing for the user and against the law if there is no technical solution to hide the name in the profile.
3. Ignoring the portal's statutes and the will of users
According to the Vint.ee statutes, the portal is obliged to discuss and respond to proposals that have collected more than 20 supporters. My earlier initiative collected nearly 70 signatures of support, but no substantive response or solution (e.g. login with mobile ID or a function to hide one's name) followed. This is contrary to the portal's own established rules and good administrative practice.
Suggested solution:
Please introduce a technical change that allows a verified user to choose whether their real name is visible to other users or not. The "Verified" status (or green check mark) would remain visible, ensuring trust, but personal data would remain known only to the portal administrator.
I look forward to your substantive response and a specific timetable for resolving the issue. If the portal continues to disregard the General Data Protection Regulation and its own statutes, I will be forced to contact the Data Protection Inspectorate (AKI) with a request for clarification. to obtain an assessment of the legality of the current practice.
Sincerely, Bog Palm

Create a second user that you will verify!

And here is another alternative view:

There are 100 sites in the world where you can play chess anonymously. Now one of the sites decides to organize a tournament where all users can see each other's real names. And you're going to complain that you can't participate in these tournaments anonymously? Are you kidding?

The bog palm has been preventing people from digging here for years.
Does he not know the addresses or does he not know how to write a complaint?
Maybe AI will help him?

It is absolutely clear now, .... , with the arguments put forward, that if only 1 man decides everything, the situation is not normal!! If the founding member already recommends making a second account and using a second email address as if they are being forced to do so, then all of this is pure misconduct and the so-called ID-based approach is equal to cheating!! Well, you can't force people who play here to link their name to their username in order to play on EMV!!?? This is as absolutely wrong an attitude as can be. It's just that for now, many passers-by here still respect this site made and developed in Estonia a little, but if the signs of a police state start to creep in, which they certainly do, then the soon-to-disappearing vint,.ee will disappear from the world and only on social media, because that's not allowed and you just can't act like that on your own!! If you continue like that, MR. Meikop, then complaints will come to every federation and also from the players. AI offered a very tolerant solution, how to solve this vermification correctly and you can do it, just with the help of AI in about 1 day, right!? AI's reasons for this site to still work are also very good!!

So in response to Meikop, when it goes to the official turnle, chess house!? Well, you really don't understand!! What's important is not that I don't want to go play under my own name, but that I can't be associated with my username on this site!!!?? Well, completely incomprehensible, how can a smart person not understand this!!!!???
rabapalm 2026-05-03T20:34:39+03:00
And AI offered a completely realistic solution, the media is used on many similar sites! Read this option again and the whole process of getting things done can take you less than an hour :)
Mets58 2026-05-03T20:54:39+03:00
bog palm, how can you not understand that Meikop won't change this?
You will have the opportunity to file a complaint with the relevant authorities using AI.

This site is the personal property of Meikop and is protected by copyright.
No amount of swamp palm can change that.

If there is still a statute and it is consistently violated, then the option is to simply cancel it, but no one wants that! After all, that's what the original statute was for, that if many people don't like the changes, then they should be discussed, at least that's what it initially seemed like!?
