Wouldn't it be more correct or fair if there was a rating for each game?? Because let's face it, there are very strong national checkers players who don't play Russian checkers and vice versa, or give up, they are completely different games!

I agree in principle. I would describe how I see it: Different types of checkers could still be played in one room - the "Checker Room". Otherwise, the crowd would disperse and it is more likely that the desired game type cannot be played. Invitations, etc. would also happen in the same way. Question A - according to what rating would users be ranked in the checker room? 1) One option is a combined rating - the average of the user's Russian Checkers, International Checkers, Surrender and Brazilian Checkers ratings is taken. 2) The other option is according to the rating of Russian Checkers (as the most popular checkers). I myself do not really favor this option, because why should a very strong International Checkers player, who in principle does not bother to play Russian Checkers, be the last in the list of users? Question B - how to show the number of points won by the inviter to the game? 1) Apparently, changing the game type in the SelectBox would also change the points at the top of the window. Question C - Apparently, then 5 checkers rankings would be created? 1) Yes. There are not really any other options. There would also be 5 different user game statistics pages. It is feasible in itself, but would this make the vint.ee environment better? Or would the environment become more complicated / harder to perceive for a regular user (who probably doesn't distinguish between different types of checkers)? I personally like the current system (apparently because I am not particularly strong in any type of checkers and I am happy to play different types of checkers). For me, being in the TOP is not priority number 1 either - just a good environment where you can occasionally compete with others is enough :) What do others think?

It's more exciting when you're in the same room and have the same rating. It's not like they're putting the best of Estonia here. It's a place to practice :)

It gets a little nerve-wracking when you're playing checkers and the same opponent makes a move the next time and you don't notice it right away :) but you have to be more attentive :))

I also often play with Latvians (Vardes) and Poles in Kurnik. They have all checkers separately and this is their advantage over Vint. In Vint, there is not really a clear overview of who is stronger in a particular game type. I would play Vint more often if the picture were clearer. How can you, for example, put English checkers and international checkers in the same boat? Even Russian checkers and surrender with Russian checkers rules are very different games.

We have solved this problem today - there are separate ratings for tournaments, so we now have a Russian checkers ranking, a Brazilian checkers ranking, etc.

The idea was finally realized in April 2011 :) Better late than never!
