There has been a suggestion that if you are late (for example, two rounds) you will not start from 0 but will receive, for example, one point for each late round. Your Like/Dislike/comment would help further in this topic!

My personal comment: Don't be late - in duel tournaments, latecomers don't get any points, they start from scratch, and so far no one has had any problems with it.

It's not reasonable to give points to latecomers.

It is important to decide here whether to encourage free rounds or "reward" late joining. It is difficult to keep up with tournaments organized spontaneously, or outside the schedule. "Don't be late" means that the person who has joined the room at the moment will stay away, which I think will affect the tournament. Of course, I am not obligated to participate in the tournament if I am late, but everyone wins if there are more participants. A matter of interpretation.

In duel tournaments, not giving points is not such a big problem, because the rating is distributed by matches, not by the final result of the tournament. Another difference is that in a duel tournament you play against weaker opponents, so you move up in the tournament table. In the fourth, you play the same "at the back table", but 1. the share of luck is higher in a card game (i.e. the level of the tables is more even) 2. since in practice there are 2-3 tables with participants on average, the level of the tables is more even (compared to 6-7 tables in a duel tournament). I think that later joiners could get starting points, especially those who save from free rounds. If the free round otherwise gives 2/3, then the latecomer should be given at least 1/3.
