A great achievement! Considering the intensity of the competition, that is, how many people are involved in this field in the world, I think this medal is at least as valuable as, if not more valuable than, my World Mind Games gold.

And I was also wondering why I can't beat Tiidu at sudoku... However, there have been one or two times where I've been faster than him in a tournament (single) game. Now I should be even more proud! Good luck to the bronze medalist!

An amazing achievement, congratulations from me too. Just 2 years ago, no one dared to dream that an Estonian would make it to the top ten at the Sudoku World Championships. Last year's 19th place gave an idea that things were improving, but a medal was probably not considered realistic. Hopefully, Tiitu will be seen on TV soon. The results of the remaining Estonians: Rauno 97/104 (participated as an individual competitor) Arko 111/121 Kristel 113/124 Kertu 120/134 A total of 136/155 competitors. On the left is the official result, on the right is the overall ranking with all participants. That is, there were some competitors who participated unofficially, did not fit into their country's teams, etc. In the team classification, Estonia took 17th place out of 22 in the official national classification. In the unofficial ranking, with mixed teams, 25th place out of 39. To clarify the number of countries: 22 countries had a team of 4. There were participants from 30 countries. The winner was American Thomas Snyder, who is now a three-time world champion. The year before last, he lost the title and last year he organized the competition himself. You can read about how Snyder is the best in the world on his blog: http://motris.livejournal.com/ This time, the punching bag is two-time world champion Jan Mrozowski from Poland, who entered the playoff second and finished in the last, tenth place of the finalists. Japanese Kota Morinishi came in second. In the team classification: 1) Germany 2) Czech Republic 3) USA
posted by ain1234, 01.04.2011 I don't believe Estonia will finish well in the team classification, I would rather hope for a good individual place for Tiidu (e.g. top 5), I don't believe the rest of the Estonians will even make it to the top half. But that's just my opinion and what previous experiences show.
This is a post-EMV story that came true. I'm not trying to belittle the results of other Estonians, they were overshadowed by Tiidu's achievement, but everyone still put in effort, time and money - it's a commendable effort. As a consolation for Kertu, everyone has failed the first time and I would have finished last. For now, I wish all our heroes success in the Logic World Championships that have begun!
