Villem Mesila won the Estonian Mind Sports All-Around Championship in Tallinn with 91 points. The fresh two-time world champion and multiple Estonian champion Andres Kuusk was only one point behind. Kalev Pagar won the bronze medal with 82.5 points. Raido Uibos followed with 80, the best young player Argo Lillemaa with 78.5; Martin Hõbemägi with 77.5 and Ervins Veitsurs with 77 points. Villem Mesila won in a strong competition in Sudoku. Regina Narva won in Chess. Ervins Veitsurs was the best in Bridge, Timo Ilu in Gomoku and Andres Kuusk in Checkers. The final results and also the results by disciplines are now available under the events that took place.
congratulations
In addition, I can't say how tired the heroes from London were, but they were definitely affected by the drop in pressure. Martin slackened off so much in the gomoku that he even managed to finish 7th. Although people say that Mimm had played brilliantly against him. Of course, Andres wasn't lucky either.
In my own defense, I can say that Villem was simply better this time. In Sudoku, my abilities are what the result shows; in chess, I could have done even worse if I hadn't won against Mai with a big trump card in the last round; and in gomoku, all the losses were completely justified; only in bridge, I would have hoped for more, but in individual bridge, complaining about bad luck is obviously not very justified.
Congratulations to Villem Mesila on his victory, that's a great result! (y) It was already clear in sudoku that this guy is in the swing... But the reason Andres Kuus didn't win was actually sudoku! How is that? In sudoku, he still got his worst place in those competitions, 10th, and if he had, for example, shared 8th-10th place with Taavi and Kalev, he would have finished with the same result in terms of points as Villem! However, if he had finished alone in 8th, Villem would have been ahead by 1 point. So here's my advice to Andres: do more sudoku! ;D I'll add something about the sudoku tournament, that the top 7 got maximum points, that is, they solved all the sudokus correctly, and the top 8 are Vind users, and quite a few of the following finishers also have Vind. As for my result, too. I'm satisfied with 7th place, because I had set the minimum goal to be in the top 10. The maximum points were also obtained, while the time gap with the top 3 was quite clear. Since I took a small risk in the Estonian Sudoku by leaving most of the Sudokus unchecked and lost 50 points (and ~8 places, if I'm not mistaken), now I decided to go out on a limb and not repeat the same mistake and checked everything -- thanks to that, maximum points! :] I knew that mistakes could occur, because when practicing on paper early in the morning, about 20% of the solutions were wrong, and the percentage of correct answers turned out to be about the same in the competition, but everything was corrected.
