The design is pretty crappy and uncomfortable.

I don't really invite you here anymore, this old design with tables is much smoother to look at. The new design is a pain :/

A long time ago I pointed out a new design flaw in chess (and apparently checkers) boards! Numbers and letters inside the squares of the board!? Does that really not bother anyone!??

Numbers and letters are also included in the board on the world's most popular chess site, chess.com.

The old one is normal but the new one is complete garbage.

There's no point in comparing it to Chess.com! You can also adjust the size of the board there - 100-square cardboard boards used to have numbers, but in general, there should still be buttons and squares on the board, why bother with distracting factors! Maybe if we do, we'll put coordinates on all the squares, it's still extremely distracting!

The display/non-display of these numbers can be configured in the settings.

And one more thing - it's not about the new design, I wrote the entire game space from scratch, taking into account modern technologies.
The old game room code had become incomprehensible in 10 years, it was very difficult to add anything new to it. In the future, game-specific additions and new games can be easily made on the new platform. The new game room should require fewer browser resources and is therefore faster. In addition - not only mobile users but also players with large screens benefit - their game board is now more than twice as large.

The fact that the game room menu was moved from right to left and that instead of TABs there is now a list of open rooms on the top left - it takes a little time to get used to it. And there is definitely room for improvement here. For example, today I had the idea that the active room in the list on the top left could be a different color - you can better understand which room is open in front of you.

This blunt (and not constructive) criticism will not move us forward. We will fix the bugs in the new space over the summer and the old playroom will close at the end of the summer, we will not keep the two environments operating.

The chat window and the game should definitely be made to move separately, not together.

Meikop, how is it that when I ask "Have you gotten a sunburn for organizing such a mess in the pub?", I get a comment ban in less than a minute. The fact that people are banned here for swearing is absolutely right and okay, but how can you ban someone just for a question that doesn't contain any profanity? Or is "getting a sunburn" profanity? It's just an innocent metaphor, nothing more. Everyone understands that imposing bans in the context of the above question is simply eliminating the person asking about an uncomfortable topic for you? No person, no problem... whose sentence is that...

Meikop, you have to realize that many users pay a fortune here to get a share of the various functions of the existing gaming rooms. It can't be that I come and change all the functionality that has been held in high esteem so far, and if the result is unsatisfactory, then you start ignoring the feedback of the majority of users. If something went wrong, then you have to admit it. Maybe there is a brighter mind among the users who can help you if you want to make updates. It's clear that the new version here is not criticized for the sake of criticism, but because the result is extremely poor.
