Video Poker on the portal Vint.ee

Hello,

Today, a new game was added to the vint.ee portal after a long time - Video Poker .
The game can be played in the Poker room (the same room where Texas Holdem is located).

But why did I decide to bring such a game to the fort?
I have a personal history with many games in the genre:

• My grandmother and grandfather from Põltsamaa taught me chess and checkers.
• In Põltsamaa, there was also a tradition of playing sasku whenever a large group got together.
• I used to play nails a lot with my neighbor boy Kuno when I was about 10.
• I played 4-player family games endlessly in Jõgeva with Toomas, Indrek and Karl when I was about 13-14.
• I played a lot of potkidnoi with escorts at home in Jõgeva in the nineties with Kõuts.
• While studying in Nõu, I played a lot of thousand and bismarck with my roommates Tiit and Jaanus.
• I also have a history with Video Poker and Black Jack. Let's talk about the first one in more detail.

It was around 1997 when some Video Poker slot machines were brought to the Jõgeva shopping mall. No one checked age back then, and so I sometimes found myself putting 1-kroon coins into the machine.
I remember it was winter, I had just been to the store, a couple of metal kronor in my pocket and decided to put them in the machine. And then it happened - I won a Royal Flush with a 1-kronor bet. The prize was 250 kroons (That was a pretty big amount for a 13-year-old at the time). 250 1-kronors is quite a lot, it takes a long time to get it out of the machine. I remember all that clatter and noise and attention. I stuffed the 250 1-kronors into my jacket pockets, exchanged them for paper money at the flower shop next door and walked home. When I got home, I proudly gave all the money to my mother.

Another story is about cruises - I have traveled quite a bit between Finland and Sweden by ship in my life, and I often had the opportunity to play video poker on the ship. One curious story happened around 2000 when I was traveling to Sweden by ship: I had played my 10-20 SEK and was starting to leave the slot machine room when I noticed a 10-SEK coin in the box under one of the machines. Since there was no one nearby, I took a coin and put it in the machine. With a great deal of confusion, I pressed the MAX BET button (i.e. the bet was all 10 SEK) and by some miracle I got a four! I think I won 250 SEK. Literally money found on the ground.

Now, an important thing for everyone:
In casinos, there is logic written into the slot machines. The house always wins.
Vint uses pure randomness: at the beginning of each game, a deck is divided and played by doubling (so when doubling, you don't see the cards that were there at the beginning). If you can double correctly 8 times in a row, the deck is finished and a new deck is shuffled for you to continue doubling.

If you are a successful video poker player in the game, it does not mean that you will be successful playing for real money in a real casino.

"Casino" probably isn't a good name, it has too negative an undertone.

The best name will be awarded 100 credits!

Since these are still casino games, I wouldn't consider this gaming space to have any arbitrary abstract name. The name of the space should somehow refer to this type of games, but simply "casino" would also have too much of a negative connotation in my opinion. I would suggest the name "Vegas" or "Las Vegas". In my opinion, it doesn't have a direct negative connotation, but at the same time, every user can understand what games or entertainment can be found there.

A name with a little twist, perhaps? Since it offers an alternative to spending real money, I suggest the name Võiutusruum or Säästurum. Instead of room, the word tuba can also be used.

What does vint.ee do? The reason why they bring some very old and over 20 years old video poker games, one of the worst ever, here, on the site of thinking people, is extremely childish and even dangerous!? After all, schoolchildren go here and why should they follow the example of founding member Meikop, trying to catch some four of a kind in this rudimentary video poker machine game. This game has nothing in common with real, sporting poker!
If poker is to be dealt with here at all, then the existing game should first be made a little more acceptable! For example, a few of the basic characteristics of poker have not been dealt with here at all: Bluffing, quick review of the previous hand, etc. Of the video games, it would probably be most sensible to bring roulette, but it seems that Vint has some money-making options with this childish video poker. Well, it's not OK.

Marsh, don't be such a pessimist! Let people have fun. At least you won't lose money in the casino ;)

Ok, Meikop, I've just seen all these casino tricks and even lived off of them for a while. I still remember the early days, when a few machines were set up somewhere and then people stood in line behind one of them and one player could make 5 bets in a row, then the next one, etc. The worst addiction can be caused by the first big win. I also know many stories where a moped, bicycle or something else was bought for the first big win. Then the illusion arises that you can win the casino or the machine. I could even write a book about everything that happened in and around casinos, how customers were attracted, happy hours were held, where you could exchange so that you paid 500 kroons, but chips were given for 759, sometimes even 850, and when they "played through" even with a small loss, you were still in the blackjack table, often in the big win.
There is no other art in the casino than learning what bets to play with and when it's the right time to leave :)
This poker variant here is really ancient. There should also be a 50. bet, because there is too big a gap between 25-100! Is this done on purpose!? It would be more correct there, for example: 5,10,15,25, 50 or the most common 1,2,3,4,5.
Yes, I agree that there must be "fans", but we could still play a more modern game. In terms of entertainment, even "one-handed" ones are better. Why not BlackJack too?

1 Recommendation specifically for poker players: don't double small wins, but big ones! :) , more specifically: wins higher than triple. From the resulting bigger wins, make me a VIP sometimes and I'll give you more good advice :D
