Hello,

The Mental Sports Olympiad is over for this academic year and it's time to take stock.

Let's start with chess .
664 students played chess this year. That's almost 100 students more than last year! During the first stage of the basic school, a vint.ee record was also set for chess tournaments: 268 chess players in one tournament ! A total of 6,127 chess games were played within the framework of the Mental Sports Olympiad!

Primary school results
243 students played chess in the primary school. Karl Samuel Leht from Tallinn Old Town Educational College won the game with a clear victory, winning one stage and collecting 290 points. Second place went to Tobias Reinson from Tartu Private School with 287 points.
Daniel Gilan from Tallinn Mustamäe Humanities High School and Nora Toomas from Viimsi School scored equal points (282). The result of 4th place gave Daniel Gilan the third place.

In terms of schools, Tääksi School was the best!

Elementary school results
A record 314 students played chess at the elementary school.
In addition - the top three places were shared by Tartu students!

With two stage wins, the multi-talented Mikk Kaarel Õim from Tartu Kesklinna School took first place in the overall standings, collecting 295 points. Karl Mattias Kokk from Tartu Private School took second place with 287 points, and Kertu Karba from Tartu Kivilinna School came in third, collecting 274 points.

Among schools, Tallinn Science School was the best, represented by 26 students.

High school results
107 students played chess at the gymnasium.
Last year's top two - Dion Krivenko from Tallinn's Õismäe Russian Lyceum and Tormi Kull from Jüri Gymnasium - scored the same number of points (295).
Participation in all four stages gave Tormi first place!

Illimar Kirss from Saaremaa Gymnasium and Markus Sooväli from Pärnu Ühisgymnasium also scored the same number of points (271). The better total of points gave Illimar third place!

In the school category, Pärnu Koidula Gymnasium won!

Named medals and trophies will be delivered to schools no later than May!
