This Saturday, November 24, the Estonian English Checkers Championship took place at the Nõmme Youth Center in Tallinn. Last year, the tournament was held as part of the Vint.ee Summer Days, and before that there had been an 18-year break in the competition. This year, several famous checkers players came to the competition. After a 7-round tournament, Andres Kuusk became the Estonian champion, who is now the first in Estonia to win championship titles in both bridge and checkers in one year. Villem Lüüs came in second (thus repeating last year's result). Imre Anton narrowly won third place, who beat last year's winner Heinar Jahu by Berger coefficient. In the women's category, Kaari Vainonen added to her extensive collection of titles. Next year, the English Checkers Championship will take place in the summer, during the Vint.ee Summer Days.

One clarifying question. How many people have participated in both the bridge and checkers Estonian Championships in the same year? :)

I think there might be a few, but of course not many. I would suggest up to 5 would be the correct answer. :)
