Martin Hõbemägi won the London Mental Sports Olympiad trial competition

On 9-10.07., the London World Championship qualifying competition was played in Karepa with the participation of 56 mental athletes. They could test themselves in boku, kamisado, Katan, Carcasonne and "Lines of Action". The best was Martin Hõbemägi with 276.5 points, who in a tense fight beat Andres Kuuske by 6 and Kuno Kolki by 12.5 points. Markus Ikla and Georg-Romet Topkin from the youth class followed with 239 and 238 points respectively. Irina Metreveli (220.5) won first place among women and Daria Jusupmurzina (173) among girls. Since Martin withdrew, Andres, Kuno, Markus and Georg will travel to London for free thanks to the sponsor company Bondora. In addition, the aforementioned and Rauno Lääne, Sander Piik and Kirke Koni will be able to participate in the mental sports training camp taking place at the end of next week.
