Mind Games Olympiad 2022/2023 - Chess Results

The Mental Sports Olympiad is over for this academic year and it's time to take stock.

Let's start with chess.
566 students played chess this year. That's 38 students more than last year!

Primary school results
235 students played chess in the primary school. Igor Kharkhan from Tallinn Central Russian Gymnasium won with a clear victory, who also won two stages. Second place was taken by Meelis Markus Kaasik from Tallinn Science School with 285 points, and Karl Samuel Leht from Tallinn Old Town Educational College came in third, narrowly losing to second place, with 284 points.
Among the schools, Tallinn Science School was the best, represented by 27 students in this age group.

Elementary school results
257 students played chess at the elementary school. The competition for first place was once again extremely tight: the top three were within 4 points!
The winner was Rondo Mikko from Pärnu Mai School, who scored 287 points. Aaron Rajandu from Kaarli School came in second with 285 points, and Karl Mattias Kokk from Tartu Private School came in third, with 284 points.
Among the schools, Jüri Gymnasium was the best, represented by 12 students.

High school results
74 students played chess in the gymnasium. The winner was Dion Krivenko from Tallinn Õismäe Russian Lyceum, who won two tournaments and collected 295 points. Second place was taken by Tormi Kull from Jüri Gymnasium with 290 points. Third place was taken by Mirko Lainevool , a student from the same school, who collected 278 points.
In the school category, Jüri Gymnasium also won in this age group!
