Games practice field

User "Nuuskur" came up with a very interesting idea. Namely, we could have so-called "practice fields" for different games here in the forum. This would mean that there would be an opportunity to put and take pieces on an empty board yourself. As a result, you could create different positions yourself, test them, and also rewind/rewind moves. No points or other players, just to try on your own. What do you think?

Good idea. I would make one applet and then different TABs for different board games. At first, for Russian checkers, traditional chess, Randzu and Reversi. However, a few questions arise: Do the correct rules apply on the practice field? Apparently so. I imagine the simulation as follows: 1) Buttons can be added (apparently we show a pop-up window so that the user can choose the button they want to put on the board (4 in checkers, 12 in chess, etc.) and removed (the user clicks the "remove button" button and then on the square that becomes empty) at any time. The moves work as usual (you select the button you want to move and then the empty square you want to move to). The "Previous move" and "next move" buttons do not work very well - do we delete all moves made with this button when we remove a button? It gets complicated 2) Another option is to divide the simulation into separate parts: a) The user places the pieces on the board and presses the "Start simulation" button b) Next, you can simulate a position - Move, press the "next move" and "previous move" buttons, but you cannot add or remove pieces during the simulation. c) Finally, the user presses the "End simulation" button and you can remove and add pieces from the board again. Ending the simulation also clears the list of moves that were made during the simulation. I personally like the latter option more. Or what?

The rules should still apply. Then add some extra pieces that can easily create a normal opening position on the board (all pieces on the square). It's also important that I can rewind the moves I made in the simulation and play differently.

I see that almost the same topic was relevant a few years ago, so there must still be a need for it. Maybe you could put these 2 topics together? http://www.vint.ee/mod/Forum/read-thread/?forum=43&thread=2058

Very good idea, I would also suggest that it could be like just training, e.g. Juku vs CPU, of course it wouldn't count towards the rating, but it would be training. And it would also be good if there is no one else, e.g. in chess!

It would be nice if something like this came about because there are often no people in the games I want to practice (or they don't want to play because my rating is low)

..of course I don't know how complicated the process could be, but both of these screens are pretty good. For my part, I would offer a screen where you could analyze the games listed under "interesting games". (Otherwise, everything is the same, but just one more box "analysis"). By pressing this, you can move all the buttons and also remove them, and if necessary, put them back.. To finish, press "analysis" again and the game will continue where it left off..

We started working on it. Hopefully it will be there tomorrow. The pieces can be moved and removed freely. I couldn't figure out how to put the pieces back in the normal time (white/black option). In chess it would be even more complicated - what kind of piece do you want to put back... Also, in checkers, a stone doesn't automatically become a checker when you get to the last row (its implementation has multiplied the programming volume). In short - a saving option is better than nothing, right?
