Ottomar Ladva became Estonia's youngest ever chess champion

In the final tournament of the Estonian Chess Championship held in Tallinn from April 30 to May 6, Ottomar Ladva and Juri Krupenski shared first place with 6.5 points out of 9. In the follow-up match for the title of Estonian champion, Ottomar Ladva won with a score of 1.5-0.5, becoming the youngest chess champion of all time in Estonia at the age of 15, breaking the previous record held by Lembit Olli since 1982 in 14 days. In the final tournament, Ilja Vovk, Tarvo Seeman and Roman Jezov shared 3rd-5th places, with Vovk receiving the bronze medal due to better odds. In the women's final tournament, held at the same time, Tatjana Fomina secured first place, which was her 10th championship title in total. The silver and bronze medals went to Mai and Regina Narva, the strongest chess family in Estonia.
