This academic year, 610 students from 60 schools participated in the Mental Sports Olympiad checkers tournaments!
The largest number of applicants (44) came from the Tallinn Old Town Education College.
Let's summarize the results by age group:
Elementary school
At the elementary school level, 302 students from 43 schools played checkers.
The winner was Henri Mugur from Tallinn Science School with 290 points.
Elisabeth Valdmann from Jüri Gymnasium narrowly lost second place, scoring 288 points.
Georg Kello from Kiili Gymnasium came in third with 276 points.
In the school category, Jüri Gymnasium won with 1,633 points, represented by 10 students.
Elementary school
At the elementary school level, 269 students from 46 schools played checkers.
Priit Lokotar from Tallinn Pääsküla School won with three tournament wins and the maximum score (300).
Second place went to Kevin Jürgen from Viljandi Jakobson School with 283 points, and third place went to Karoliina Kurm from Tallinn Pääsküla School , who scored 279 points.
In the school category, the winner was Viljandi Jakobson School , represented by 23 students.
Gymnasium
At the high school level, 38 students from 8 schools played checkers.
Tõnis Käär from Nõo High School of Science won with two tournament wins and 292 points.
Ken Kuning and Marc Joosep Tähiste , students of Tallinn Secondary School 32 , finished with an equal score of 287. The additional criterion (4th result) gave second place to Ken Kuning.
In the school category, Saaremaa Ühisgümnaasium , represented by 15 students, won.
