This academic year, 479 students from 56 schools participated in the Mental Sports Olympiad gomoku tournaments!
The largest number of gomoku players (43) was from the Tallinn Old Town Educational College.
Let's summarize the results by age group:
Elementary school
At the elementary school level, 225 students from 40 schools played gomoku.
The winner was Mihkel Normak from Tallinn Old Town College of Education with 290 points.
Taavi Toompark from Tallinn Science School narrowly lost second place, scoring 288 points.
Third place went to Dmitri Kuzmin from Haabersti Russian Gymnasium with 285 points.
In the school category, Tallinn School of Science won, represented by 18 students.
Elementary school
At the elementary school level, 217 students from 38 schools played gomoku.
Markus Ikla from Tallinn School of Science won with two tournament wins and almost the maximum score (295).
Second place went to Oliver Valk from Kahtla Kindergarten-Basic School with 279 points, and third place went to Rauno Lääne from Tallinn Lilleküla Gymnasium , who scored only one point less - 278.
In the school category, Tallinn Science School was also the winner, represented by 18 students in this age group.
Gymnasium
At the high school level, 35 students from 8 schools played gomoku.
Raigo Rei from Saaremaa Ühisgümnaasium won with two tournament wins and 295 points.
Second place went to Paul Antsaar , a student from the same school, who scored 282 points.
Third place went to Kristjan Hansen from Nõo High School of Science with 279 points.
In the school category, Saaremaa Ühisgümnaasium , represented by 15 students, won overwhelmingly.
