The interruption of the thousandth tournament

There was one issue that needed to be resolved. On January 24/25, there were two tournaments with 9 participants and the tournament was interrupted because one player left the tournament. https://www.vint.ee/turniiritabel/?id=98541 https://www.vint.ee/turniiritabel/?id=97555 In short, I wouldn't specifically bring up the person who left the tournament in these two tournaments, because it can happen to anyone, etc., but perhaps we should look for solutions so that if there are 9 participants and one has some kind of problem, etc., the tournament wouldn't be interrupted but would still continue until the end. Maybe, for example, the person who interrupted would play for him or her until the end of the tournament? It's just so absurd in the minds of many when a tournament is interrupted unexpectedly like this, and another thing is that the person who interrupted could also intentionally start betting on someone's victory in an indirect sense. Please find a solution to this situation.

This is still a very old topic and everyone who has played tournaments more knows that there is a risk with 9..., but if someone specifically uses it to get first place or improve their rating, they should be punished if they can prove it. But we have also seen those JOKK users... As a recommendation, we would still need a reserve of participants; the fact that the computer starts playing until the end in a tournament with so few players is not a good solution either. I once proposed a solution that if an interruption occurs before the 8th round, then the tournament simply ends and the results are canceled, or as if it had never happened. I believe that the same problems occur in many games on this site. In chess and checkers, I have encountered cases where players who leave break the pairings and, for example, in a tournament with 7 players, there are only 3 rounds, etc. A good and positive solution would be to simply find more participants :)
