Hello,

Checkers is still the most popular discipline at the Mental Sports Olympiad. This year, 605 students from 62 schools played checkers. That's 25 students more than last year!

Primary school results
290 students played checkers at the elementary school level.
The winner was Martin Zaplatin from Tallinn Pääsküla School, who scored 292 points. Second place went to Laur Jakob Jänt from Haabneeme School with 287 points, and third place went to Kevin Kurik, a student from Tallinn Pääsküla School, with 285 points.
In the school category, Tallinn Pääsküla School won by a landslide.

Elementary school results
263 students participated in the checkers tournaments at the elementary school.
The race for first place lasted until the last stage: Priit Lokotar from Tallinn Pääsküla School and Elisabeth Valdmann from Jüri Gymnasium ultimately collected equal points (295) and stage wins (2). The fourth best result was decisive, which gave Priit first place.
Third place went to Nona Nano from Tallinn Unified High School, who scored 279 points.
Kiili Gymnasium won the school competition.

High school results
At the high school level, 52 students played checkers.
Ants Gustavson from Pärnu Koidula Gymnasium won with a perfect score (3 tournament wins out of 3), Kevin Jürgen from Viljandi Gymnasium came in second (290 points), and Kaupo Kruusmäe, a student from the same school, came in third (275 points).
In the school category, Viljandi Gymnasium won.

Congratulations to the best and thank you to everyone for participating! Named medals and trophies will be delivered to schools no later than May.
