I haven't played here for a long time, but now, after reading the overview of the Mental Sports World Championship, which was very nice, the following idea came to mind. Vint.ee, as a supporter of mental sports, could open a separate dedicated account where both individuals and companies could donate money to finance the participation of mental athletes in the next World Championship. If we could collect some money by the end of the year, we would still be able to do so. I believe that those who play here would still find a reasonable amount to support. What do you think about it?

I can't say I don't like the idea. In general, the whole fun is quite expensive: the cost of participating alone is already quite steep (130 pounds) plane tickets 10 days of living in London. If we find sponsors, we could add a few participants from Estonia and we could also use a tactical game. PS. If you know Italian, you might find it interesting to read some articles about Dario De Toffoli's gold medal win in the local media: http://www.studiogiochi.com/p/556/img/nuovaveneziaMSO2012.pdf and http://www.studiogiochi.com/p/556/img/gazzettino 4 settembre 2012.pdf

posted by kastan88 You can't call the result a dud. If someone says that, then try it yourself. 4th place among several hundred strong competitors is very tough. It would have been a dud if they had fallen behind in 20th place! It's just sad that there are detractors like Kaabermaa here, especially when it doesn't apply to the result they achieved.
Kaabermaa just said that about his 4th place at the Olympics, which by the way was his 1st best achievement. Staying 4th would have been bad, but at the moment he came 4th. That's what I said. Why put honey on the cake here, he himself understands it well enough. I also say that I went to the World Championship selection, where among the 16 there were 3 former World Championship holders (Gantvarg, Valneris and someone else), and I don't mention that I was the last one there. But I still went there. When we have a world champion, then he sets high goals for himself. And that's how it should be, but the beginning of the tournament went completely wild, by a miracle we only came in 4th place, so the end is good - a little balm for the heart.

Andres is definitely worth supporting. If we were to come with some gomoku players next year, we wouldn't pretend to be there yet.
