When a user leaves, their game will be closed after 15 minutes (allowing for a refresh / restart of the computer) if necessary. After this change, you can solve sudoku / play doubles for up to 4 days

Done. The nonsense of "choose ahead of time how fast you can solve sudoku" is gone! And as always - fixing something in one place can break something else somewhere else. Feel free to report any bugs!
posted by Meikop When a user leaves, their game is closed after 15 minutes (allows tha refresh / restart of the computer) if necessary. Currently, this closing of the game after 15 minutes does not work. I restarted my computer in the morning, when I came back the game table was closed and I had a loss. I have had a question in my mind for a long time regarding these double losses. I will not make a separate topic and ask under this topic. Why is it necessary to record losses in doubles? I play alone, who can I lose to?... To myself? In reality, all losses are related to either the end of time or leaving Vind. I personally have had a couple of other cases where a table was created, but thanks to Vind's quirks, I could not enter my own table and play there. All of the above cases are recorded as losses, although they are not losses. If there were duels in doubles, then there would really be real losses and wins. Since duels are not held and played alone, it would be sufficient to simply display the number of games played without any non-existent wins and losses.

Could you allow the restart to take longer than 10 minutes? I looked at the code and it is currently set to 10 minutes. By the way - when exactly did this happen?

Hmmm, I didn't look at the clock, but it definitely wasn't 15 minutes. The game itself was about 5:15 in the morning (or a few minutes later)

Maybe bad luck - you were away for 10 minutes and 12 seconds :) Since I myself thought that every computer could restart in 10 minutes, I set that time. It seems that 15 minutes is a safer choice. I'll change it and it will be uploaded in the next version

Clearly, therefore bad luck. I'm just not used to having to rush back when doubling. It didn't happen before, now I'll take note. But yes, the computer is decent and it still does the restart faster. It's just that one of my four-legged friends needed help, hence the longer delay. Thanks for the info!

So, I don't know if it's related to this change, but Sudoku has a problem where after a duel it just shows this text: [16:58.11] allever and driv4r finished the 6x6 average game. allever won! So it doesn't show the solution time anymore! The same thing happens when I win the duel :( Okay, I can calculate it quite easily based on the start time and end time, but this functionality was there before and it would still be more convenient if it were there now. And secondly, was removing the time check from Sudoku really necessary and did its existence make the site worse? It's probably not the most popular option, but I, for example, used to use it all the time. I haven't been here for a few months, so I only noticed its disappearance a few days ago. If this somehow breaks the site's code, I understand, but otherwise it was a pretty important thing for me in Sudoku, especially when solving alone...

Was it important for you to set a maximum time for solving sudoku?
driv4r 2015-01-31T18:07:42+02:00
Yes, it made me work harder than I had in a short time, and sometimes I ran out of time, which is why I don't have 99-100% solution percentages ;) Unfortunately, it won't come back, I assume... But will the solution time come or not?
