It seems that organizing card game tournaments is going smoother than I initially thought. The 4-person iperedkidnoi tournaments are ready, and I may also organize sasku, bismarck and tüsü tournaments in the near future. Then it would be easier to determine the best card game player: There will be 12 tournaments (on Sundays) over 12 weeks. For example, at 7:00 PM. The approximate duration of all tournaments is 1 hour. So 3 tournaments in each game. In each tournament, players receive place points, and these place points are added together in the overall standings. The plus is that there is a simple system for determining the best, the minus is that you cannot freely choose the time of play - you have to find an hour on Sundays to play cards. How does it feel?

How to guarantee that everyone who wants to can attend the tournament, so that the server doesn't crash?

During the Mind Games Olympiad, there were 500 people in the game room at once. There were 224 participants in one checkers tournament. No problems occurred. Looking at the server's behavior during this time, it can be said that there could be twice as many users. I don't think card game tournaments will become that popular :)

The tournament series will be in the fall. Before that, we need to get the thousand and bismarck tournaments in order. Life shows that after the first version comes out, it will take some time to "tune" them. Maybe by summer, these tournaments will be here too, and during the summer, we can still work out some more nuances. We will hold the competition in September - October.

The idea is that the best should still be determined by competitions, not by ratings. In terms of scoring, the world cup series could be used as a basis, regardless of whether it's a car rally or a biathlon, etc. The place points system could be used. Skiing is even better, because then you can also distribute so-called small cups :p You get place points from each competition according to the result and a few of the worse ones can then be deducted. That would be in terms of a series competition (so-called cup series), but why not organize a World Cup or Olympic Games in addition; their winners would still be considered the best. The so-called better rating players (whether in single games or over several games) would be recognized differently, than the most stable ones, etc. The best is pretentious and it has to be, and to determine it, there still needs to be a proper competition or series of competitions!
