We can argue about this here and I don't know if it makes any sense. Everyone has their own opinion and I see sports differently than sitting at a table with a snoring brain and sweating. I classify them all as pastimes or hobbies.

At the moment there is probably no Estonian site where you can play poker, but at the same time poker is quite popular. Therefore, I believe that poker would bring a lot of new users to this portal and I think it would be useful. Whether poker is a mind sport or not can be debated, but I think that if there are already nails and podkidnoi here, then there should be no question about poker fitting into this portal.

If you don't like Maykop poker and poker players, there's no point in wasting your time writing such a long and ignorant text.

Ignorant? Easy to say, a little more difficult to justify. There's no point in getting into a fight here. The point is that it's me and the Estonian Mind Sports Association who should know and be aware of the definition of mind sports.

In my opinion, mind games are those where both players have an equal chance of winning the game at the start and the course of the game does not depend on chance. No card game is like that.

Agree with Meikop's arguments! Poker is not a mind game! At best, a strategy game or something like that. A mind game cannot be one where about 50% is a part of luck...

It's worth thinking about any activity, but if the results can be affected by factors other than the ability of your opponents to think, then it's still not a mind sport, but a game of chance.

posted by TiiT
posted by poffic In the long term, of course it is. But whether a person's lifespan is long enough for this to happen is a personal question. In fact, Tiidu's comment about entropy puzzled me: "The last balls come randomly" - don't the first ones come? And you can always see which colors have come less often and the strategy has to be adjusted accordingly. I also challenge the young man of the same name to a duel in the aforementioned game (entropy) and promise that during the first 10 games I will have so much "luck" that you will not win any of them! If I am wrong, I am willing to compensate you for your time in the agreed amount.
Have I stated that the first pieces do not come randomly? I said that the last ones do and thereby made the claim that the final score depends on their arrival. I also didn't mention how much it changes the final score - the fact is that, for example, the order of the last three pieces may somewhat affect the final score. I'm not saying that this should decide the winner. But how can you promise that you will win 10 games? Unfortunately, there seemed to be a very bitter comment on this point...
How can I promise? I simply promise and I am ready to compensate you for your time if I don't keep my promise. Where do you see the bitterness? I'm trying to prove that entropy is not a game of passing time, but pure skill. Regardless of the order of the last 3 pieces. In a long enough perspective. I remind you that I beat you once in checkers, without even claiming for a moment that I will get a single point from you in the next ten games.
