International Checkers Tournament Tallinn 2010

The Tallinn 2010 international draughts tournament ended at the Paul Keres Chess House. Viktoriya Motrichko (Ukraine) won the women's tournament with a clear 13 points out of 14, Sabina Kovalevskaja (Lithuania) came in second with 9 points, and Marika Azojan, the best Estonian, came in third with 7 points. The men's tournament was won by former world champion Guntis Valneris (Latvia) with 13 points out of 18. Kaido Leesmann won second place with 12 points, who also fulfilled the international grandmaster norm for the third time. Former world champion Anatoli Gantvarg (Belarus) and Russian grandmasters Andrei Kalmakov and Murodoullo Amrillaev shared 3-5 places. Kalmakov received third place due to a better additional criterion.
