Good idea, let's go. If you don't like it, just ban it.

I think that's a pretty good idea too! :)

But go for it, good idea, it would be nice if the county or city flag colors were added to the name.

Well - there's no point in rushing. By implementing the solution as we've planned (if a user disables showing their location, they won't be able to see other people's locations either), some group will immediately start to abuse it: The check mark is mostly down, but when they need to see someone else's location, they put the check mark back in. I guess there are two options left: Either we make it so that everyone can always see it, or we don't do it at all. Sounds like a Gallup topic.

Quoting Meikop, "If we implement the solution as we have planned, some group will immediately start to abuse it: The tick is mostly down, but if you need to look at someone else's location, the tick is put back in by then." Meikop, could you explain what this so-called "abuse" is, when a person looks at other users' information that is publicly available, but does not want to make the same information public? If location display based on IP detection is introduced, then only on a voluntary basis, whoever wants it will show it. I am not familiar with the relevant laws, but this automatic public display of a user's location based on IP seems somehow suspicious to me. As for the statement in the poll "... it would unite users", I dare to doubt it very much. So how does displaying a location unite users? Some curious people get their curiosity satisfied, and that's all. Rather, politeness, respect, and consideration for fellow players would unite users. Information about where we live or are currently located is still a very insignificant nuance in a gaming portal.

Yes. The way it should work is that the user either allows or disallows their location to be seen. And it doesn't matter whether they see other people's locations or not. Even if the user doesn't allow their own location to be shown, they can still see the locations of others (who allow their location to be shown). I don't think it makes it any more complicated. :)

If we were to pursue this topic further, to make things more interesting, we could, for example, generally indicate (for example, in the Great Hall, where the number of users is currently displayed) how many people from a certain country, or more specifically, a city/settlement, are currently logged in, etc.

only 30 kilts passed :), by the way, he made me live on the same street as the school, but I actually live 30 kilts away from Tallinn
