16-year-old Mark Lapidus (T. Truusi MKK) won the Estonian Men's Championship held in Tallinn from 1 to 7 May, collecting 6.5 points from 9 games. Sander Kukk (SK Reval-Sport) came in second and Roman Ježov (SK Maletäht) came in third, both of whom collected 5.5 points. RM Tarvo Seeman (Laagri MAEKK) finished fourth with the same number of points but a worse Koya coefficient. 6-time Estonian champion Olav Sepp (Laagri MAEKK) had to settle for fifth place. Tatjana Fomina (Võru MK) became the Estonian Women's Champion for the ninth time, collecting 6 points from 8 games.
