Hello, 1) Event name. It seems difficult to give an official championship title in an online competition. "Vint.ee online Fischer chess champion"? 2) Format. 12-stage tournament series throughout the year: every 1st Thursday of the month at 20:00 in the Vint.ee environment. Time control 10 2. 7 rounds (tournament duration approximately 2.5 hours). Place points are awarded from each tournament: 1st place 35, second 32, third place 30 and from there 29.28. If anyone knows a better system, please let us know. 3) Prizes. Medals for the top three. If we find sponsors, there could also be cash prizes. An alternative would be to do with participation fees: the participation fee for the annual tournament series is 20 EUR, 80% of the prize fund would be divided between the top three (40%, 25%, 15%) 4) Content. If such a competition were to be held in regular chess, there would certainly be a problem with the use of outside help. How likely is the use of outside help in Fischer chess with such time control? All other suggestions and opinions are welcome! Marten

I would also like to present my own thoughts. Place points could be given: 1st place 35, second 30, third 26, fourth 23, fifth 21, sixth 20, further 19, 18, 17, etc. A game win in the tournament 3 points a draw 1 point a loss 0 points. This would increase the value of the win. The prizes could be in Vint credits for the six best. Those who really want it will also find a way to use outside help, and it will not be possible to completely avoid it. If there is a participation fee, there will definitely be fewer people interested. artsan

1) I think that the name of the event as proposed is quite suitable. 2) One tournament per month also seems like a reasonable frequency. The question is, however, whether the number of participants in the summer months (June, July, August) will suddenly be too small (compared to the number of participants in other months). In this case, this should be taken into account in the tournament's summary scoring system (when determining the overall winner). I suggest that, for example, the 8-10 best results could be taken into account. The advantage of the first Thursday of each month is that it is somewhat easier to remember. But in this case, there will be sometimes 4 and sometimes 5 weeks between the two tournaments. I suggest, for example, simply organizing it every 4 weeks. I can't say which option is better. Perhaps we should think about the scoring system a little more. In the system proposed by Artsan, the first places already have somewhat more weight, but maybe the weight of the best places should be even greater? And why not take into account the number of participants when distributing points. 3) The prize could be medals, for example. 4) I agree with Artsan on the issue of using outside help. (Foul play or doping :D in other areas will always remain) It's a matter of how big a point it is to do this in this tournament.
