Since it turned out from the previous topic that everyone has such a bad internet connection, I propose that, similar to online poker rooms, vint.ee could have a system that, if a player loses his connection, gives him a one-time extra time of 120 seconds to get back. The chat also informs other players at the table that the player's connection was lost and starts counting down the seconds until the player returns or the 120 seconds are up. For example, if a player gets back in 60 seconds, he will still have 60 seconds left for the next time he loses his connection.

Maybe it's expensive to make such updates, I don't know. At the same time, there could also be a so-called lag control, which does not allow certain games with a connection that is too slow. In chess and checkers, for example, someone could simply start to exploit this delay.

So that 120 seconds would be within one game?

It is not suitable for chess and checkers tournaments.

posted by Meikop So would this 120 seconds be in one game?
Since I have a relatively stable internet connection, I have no opinion.. for example, if a new 120s were created for every game, there would be users who would like to prolong it.. Suddenly, 120s are given every day.. and at midnight, the counter is reset for everyone. This system is probably not worth implementing in tournaments because if someone disconnects in every round.. each round lasts 2 minutes longer. It's just that in tournaments (including regular games) better indicators would be needed so that the browser would immediately notify when the connection to the server has been lost.. so that the player can refresh. Because sometimes, when I see an opponent thinking for a long time in a card game, I get the impression that maybe my internet has disappeared. 120 protection would be needed primarily in card games like Thousand and Bismarck, because it's a funny story if you've played for 2 hours and then lose because a few packages got lost somewhere on the internet.

These two topics should have solved the problem: Connection to server interrupted Various card games - computer plays the game to the end.

I've had the connection drop several times and the computer won't play anything, it only drops out once but when it comes back it's already playing.

posted by pahh ...there could also be a system on vint.ee that gives a player a one-time 120s extra time to get back if they lose their connection.
Vint team promise: The Vint.ee team will prioritize all bugs in the portal and new ideas that have found at least 20 supporters. The proposal has collected 22 votes, so please take it into work, or do something to fix it so that the connection to the Vint server is not lost! I personally have a permanent Telia internet connection. When I'm on Vint, the connection speed is usually about 45 ms and then at some point this number becomes extremely high (9000-45000 ms). Everything else on the internet works, only the connection to Vint is lost. It usually takes 2-3 minutes (sometimes more) to reconnect, because you have to repeatedly press "Click here to reconnect!" and when I finally get back online, the connection speed is the same (about 50 ms), the game is of course over and I'm sad. It's happened too many times lately. I feel bad about not finishing games and I'm embarrassed in front of my teammates. I'll wait for a solution.

If you get disconnected, use the back arrow and log in again via Games.
