Seven and a half years ago I had a vision of Vint.ee 2.0. This vision included one gaming space and a platform that would work on all devices. It took us several years to realize this vision, but we did it: We have one gaming space, where it is convenient to navigate between gaming spaces and tournament spaces, and the client application runs directly in the browser, which also works on mobile phones and tablets. I think it is a good time to start dreaming about Vint.ee 3.0. Today's problems * The design and technical implementation of the Vint.ee portal are outdated: Using the portal on mobile is very difficult, the graphics of the gaming space are not in vector graphics (browser zoom is a solution, but it is not pretty). In addition - the portal's html and css are so terrible that I don't dare invite my IT-savvy friends here :D * Navigation on the portal is complicated. There is a game room and then "The rest of Vint.ee" with searches, forums and so on. I'm sure that 90% of users only use the game room and are not familiar with the rest of the functionality. * Vint.ee is monolingual. Yes, we tried with Mindoku but it didn't work. Managing two portals in parallel is a hopeless endeavor. I recently grafted the Google Translate plugin to Vint, but this translation is inaccurate and confusing for foreign users. Vint.ee 3.0 The Vint of the future has a new design (slightly different color scheme), it is also convenient to use on mobile. The entire portal's html and css are written taking into account the standards of 2020. The keyword here is "Responsive web". I see that the entire portal could be a one-page solution: Vint's home page does not exist. You land immediately in the game room. You can log in directly from the game room and access to the entire portal's functionality is also from the game room (either with TAB itself or some other solution). On the technical side, the goal is a React application. There is one more plus with React - if you do it correctly, it is easy to generate the entire application as a mobile app later. Vint.ee 3.0 is multilingual (at least English and Estonian to start with). This allows us to invite foreigners here from nearby countries (Latvian checkers have discovered us, for example) as well as from further afield (the observant have seen that Greeks and Turks come to play Gomoku, for example). When and how? This is a difficult question. My gut tells me that it will take at least a couple of years to reach the final solution. But if the vision/goal is clear, it is easier to start taking the first steps. Any feedback is welcome!

Please also add the capabilities of the 3D printer, it's good to analyze the situation afterwards :) . It seems like how far technology will develop in a few years, but any effort to develop is good. So-called home games (sasku, tuhut) are original anyway, in checkers games, for example, graphics and design are not directly important. Texas Holdem does not bear any criticism in this regard, also in terms of content. Specifically, at least one person would probably be needed for Vint's work, who would deal with so-called aggressive sales work and, if necessary, would also talk to sponsors directly. 1 idea, for example, in the current crisis situation: Vint for the school program and state funding :)!! . Chess/checkers training could be conducted, not to mention hobby groups and board games. Since there are all kinds of specialists and otherwise smart people here, all kinds of follow-up lessons could be given in separate rooms, why not in mathematics or physics... The environment here definitely needs to be developed further, but if you want to survive....

We have now reached the point where we have: 1) a designer who has already developed the general layout 2) an assistant who helps develop new HTML and CSS 3) a multilingual framework Let's start by translating the pages. For example, we already have a preliminary version of the English homepage. However, the translation framework requires us to rewrite a large part of our website on the server side. And what happens when you start rewriting 10-year-old code :) ? The risk of errors is very high. In recent days, the more observant of you have already found some errors and here is our request: if you see something strange on the portal (pages not working as they should), please let us know about it quickly! Either to me personally or by posting in this topic. Over the next two months, we will probably break all functionality (login, registration, etc.). We ask our users to be understanding - vint.ee 3.0 is worth the suffering ;)

Why don't they open game boards with a board anymore?

Hi, I just checked mine - everything worked. But maybe you need to do a "hard refresh" on the tablet somehow. I found a tutorial on the Internet (from the Chrome menu then): 1. Menu 2. Settings 3. Privacy 4. Clear Browsing Data 5. Check "Cache" and press "CLEAR" Maybe it will help!

So, now the game room is largely translated (different tables also open under the game room). There are still interesting games and crossword-specific views that have not been translated (I guess foreigners don't solve Estonian crosswords either :)). Anyone who wants to can help test it (click through the links in the game room): https://www.vint.ee/en-gb/games/. What's next? The most important pages that many people visit are probably: 1) Tournament table 2) Watching a replay of the game 3) Profile page There will be all kinds of searches next, but they are probably not the most important.

Hello. Unfortunately, the profile page has a typo, for example, "losts and draws have been swapped."

Thanks for reporting, I fixed it! Additionally: 1) I translated the profile edit page 2) The profile edit button is now visible when viewing your profile 3) I added a country selection to the profile. Since we already have international tournaments, I will also display the flags of users' countries in the tournament table. So - go and set your country: https://www.vint.ee/et-ee/user/edit/

And the tournament tables are multilingual and have country information. One example here: https://www.vint.ee/et-ee/tournament/result/134406/
