Play Gomoku against the computer!

For the first time in the history of Vint.ee, it is now possible to play against the computer in the game room. To do this, you need to go to the Gomoku room and invite the computer to the game. Our goal is not to create the strongest player possible in the form of a computer, but rather to 1) Create an opportunity for beginners to get acquainted with the game alone (without losing their rating) 2) For advanced players to pass the time when there is no one in the game room at the moment (You can challenge yourself, how many moves can you beat the computer or can you play the whole board with the computer :)). That is why there are only two users in the game room called "Computer" - when there are already 3-4 players in the game room, we prefer that they play with each other. In the near future, we will also add the possibility of playing against the computer: 1) in Othello 2) in Entropia 3) in the game Lines Of Action Testing success, Vint.ee Team
A commendable update :)
Currently, the computer plays gomoku too strongly against a very novice player. For familiarization with the game, one computer could be weaker and the other of equal strength. And you could also play pentet against the computer.
I agree with Valju that if possible, the computer could have several levels and playing against the computer in pentes would be great. But looking at how the kids play against the current level, it seems to me that the "stupidity" of the program (apart from the funny position moves) is completely satisfactory :). I think that the program is needed more at the moment for those who have already played a few times (e.g. children from schools where I have been introducing them) than for first-time players.
Ideally, the computer would be able to learn. For a real beginner, the computer would show the moves in advance (flashing up to three possible correct move locations, explaining why the player did not win if 6 or more buttons were in a row, or explaining the foil points in the renge, etc.). After the player has won three times, the computer would choose a harder level and not predict any more. After another three wins, the computer would choose the third level of difficulty, etc.
If it is still clear that neither side will win, the computer may accept a draw. Otherwise, there is no way to end the game other than to simply leave or fill the entire board with pieces.
If you invite the computer to play and set "Opponent chooses" for one turn, the game will not start.
Nooooo, it's great that you can play against the computer and I've used this opportunity, resulting in 2 wins and 1 loss against Computer 1 and 1 win and 2 losses against Computer 2. However, there are a few things that are currently wrong or need to be fixed! Firstly, the computer always chooses black pieces. I played 6 times and let the computer choose and every time it chose black; that's unfair, black has an advantage. Secondly, the rating didn't change after any game, that's nonsense! Thirdly, for some reason these wins and losses are not reflected in my profile, again very wrong. Otherwise, playing against the computer is absolutely fine and it plays pretty well, I have to say.
why can't you play 4 rows and chess against the computer
Hi, Thanks for the feedback. We are making some changes: 1) When inviting the computer to a game, it is not possible to leave something for the opponent to choose. You set the parameters of the game yourself. 2) It is not possible to offer the computer a draw.
