Hi, I had the idea to make this card game a vinti (since you can't play it anywhere else). The problem is that players in pairs can exchange card information with each other (msn, skype). To avoid this, players should be paired randomly. But if you pair randomly, the problem immediately arises that maybe your opponent is a beginner. Then you will be recorded as a loser and your rating will drop. Of course - a rating limit on the game board always helps (you only allow experienced players to the board). But is playing with a random partner all the time at all fun/interesting?

Agreed, Figaro, of course there could be bridge! In my opinion, this problem of predicting cards is overstated. Unlike sudoku, where any fool with a program can beat Tiidu, beginners will not be able to do anything against pros like Fantunes even with a certain number of handouts with open cards. However, as with sudoku - the existence of bridge would help the field develop in Estonia and people could enjoy the game. The only problem may be that people don't bother to learn the rules and there won't be many players.

Now that I've got a thousand up, I might as well start thinking about sasku. I've updated the first post a bit with the questions that are currently bothering me about it. One more thought: Maybe I'll write a computer player who plays sasku very well - that way sasku would become a two-person game (both players play in pairs with the computer). That way, the problem of exchanging card information and the problem of a weak opponent would immediately disappear...

that's a good idea, pair it with a computer

Another idea - when creating a table, you can say whether there are two computers or all 4 people at the table. Your own risk then - whether you get a weak pair or not :) Sometimes it may be difficult to get 4 players together - then you have to make a table with two computer players and you can at least play.

So, let's take Sasku next. The goal is to get this game out in the first months of next year. The first version will come with a random opponent solution. We'll add a smart computer player when I've played Sasku a little myself, learned the tricks, and can program such a computer player.

I don't know the rules of sasku, but I think that illegal information between partners (skype, etc.) is not a good excuse for casual partners. 1. Most players are honest. So they are not interested in dishonest information exchange. 2. Players who are not honest cheat anyway. Inevitably, they will eventually get caught. Yes, their chances of cheating in sasku are smaller if they can't choose a partner. In that case, they play other games, etc. 3. There is an online bridge server (bridge is a card game between two pairs of four players). I haven't heard of any problems with cheating there. Probably the main difference compared to poker is that the game is not played for money. So there is not much motivation to cheat.

1) The game comes to 12 points, with a hair the game is over immediately. 2) I will initially make a solution with a random partner, later it is easy to remove / make it configurable. 3) Under the game board I will also show the size of the best bid for each hand, the trump, the number of points for both pairs, and the result. 4) I probably won't draw those bars and hair :), I will simply mark the sum of the points 5) The rating system will be such that both players of the winning pair will get an additional rating compared to the ratings of both losers. If someone leaves (time runs out), they will get a decent rating minus - from all other three players.
