The best mental athletes in Estonian schools in the 2017/2018 academic year

Hello, 886 students from 69 schools participated in the Mental Sports Olympiad in the 2017/2018 academic year. The most students participated from Tallinn Science School - 44. Today we are publishing the results of the overall results. Primary School 70 students from primary schools participated in all disciplines, which is 30 students more than last year! The best mental athlete was Albert Pedmanson from Rakvere Old Town School, collecting 1134 points. It is interesting that Albert won with exactly the same number of points last year (then he lost in chess, this year in sudoku). With 1094 points, Rondo Mikko from Pärnu Mai School came in second place. Rondo also took one victory - in chess. Third place went to Thor Andreas Perv from Tallinn Vanalinna Hariduskolleegium, collecting 1001 points. Põhikool 96 students participated in all disciplines, which is 28 more than last year. The best mental athlete in the basic school category is Ardi Raag from Tallinna Reaalkool, collecting 1085 points. Ardi won the basic school category last year as well. Similar to last year, Ardi did not manage to get any underachievements, but stable high places in various areas ensured the overall victory this time too. With a underachievement in checkers and repeating the result of the previous year, Mark Basarab from Peetri Lasteaed-Põhikoolist took second place, collecting 1073 points. Third place went to Markus Ikla Tallinn Reaalkool, collecting 976 points and getting a narrow victory in gomoku. Gyümnaasium 19 students participated in all disciplines. The best mental athlete in the high school category was Karl Aleksander Sirp Tallinn English College, who collected 1095 points and got a narrow victory in sudoku. Second place was taken by Kuno Kolk Tallinn French Lyceum with 1087 points, and third place (just right - with 1084 points) by Kristofer Lõhmus Tallinn Technical High School. The best mental athletes will be awarded medals by the Estonian Mental Sports Association. Thank you all for participating and see you next academic year!
