Hello, This academic year, 569 students from 56 schools participated in the Chess Olympiad of Thought Sports. This is 87 students more than last year! The most chess players (33) were from Saaremaa Ühisgümnaasium and Tallinn Vanalinna Hariduskolleegium. Let's summarize the results by age group: Elementary school. 291 students from 36 schools participated in the competition at the elementary school level. With a perfect score (4 wins out of 4 stages), Karl Mattias Kokk from Tartu Private School won. Second place went to Rasmus Pallum from Jüri Gymnasium, and third place went to Hans-Georg Köösel from Pärnu Mai School. The best school was definitely Jüri Gymnasium, which was represented by 17 children in this age group. Primary School 225 chess enthusiasts from 43 schools participated in the competition at the primary school level. First place (with two tournament wins) was won by Georg Aleksander Pedoson Tallinn Nõmme Primary School. Second place was won by Albert Pedmanson Rakvere Waldorf School, and third place was won by Karl Erik Olde Tallinn Reaalkool. Also in this age group, the best school title went to Jüri Gymnasium, represented by 13 students at the basic school level Gymnasium At the gymnasium level, 53 students from 11 schools competed. With full marks (4 tournament wins out of 4), the competition was won by Margareth Olde from Tallinn Reaalkool. Second place went to a student from the same school (and Margareth's sister) Grete Olde. Third place went to Markus Hansson from Pärnu Koidula Gymnasium. The best school was Pärnu Koidula Gymnasium, represented by 8 students in this age group. Medals and trophies will be delivered to the winners in the first weeks of April!
