514 students played chess at the Mind Games Olympiad

Hello,

The Mental Sports Olympiad is over for this year and it's time to take stock!
Let's start with chess.

This academic year, 514 students from 69 schools participated in the Mental Sports Olympiad chess tournaments!
The largest number of chess players (49) came from the Tallinn Old Town Educational College.
Let's summarize the results by age group:

Elementary school
At the elementary school level, 237 students from 50 schools played chess.
Hans-Georg Köösel from Pärnu Mai School and Aaron Rajandu from Kaarli School finished with equal points (295). The additional criterion (number of stages participated) gave Hans-Georg first place.
Third place was taken by Mikk Kaarel Õim from Tartu Central School with 279 points.

Among schools, Järveküla School , represented by 13 students, scored the most points (1598).

Elementary school
At the elementary school level, 231 students from 50 schools played chess.
The winner was Dion Krivenko from Tallinn Õismäe Russian Lyceum , who won two stages and scored a total of 289 points. Rondo Mikko from Pärnu Mai School took second place with 285 points, and Tormi Kull from Jüri Gymnasium took third place (with 280 points).

In the school category, the winner was Jüri Gymnasium , represented by 13 students.

Gymnasium
At the high school level, 45 students from 13 schools played chess.
Georg Aleksander Pedoson from Tallinn Old Town College of Education won overwhelmingly with three tournament wins and the maximum score (300). Second place went to Mirko Lainevool from Jüri Gymnasium with 279 points, and third place went to Marc Joosep Tähiste from Tallinn 32nd Secondary School , who collected 277 points.

In the school category, Saaremaa Ühisgümnaasium won by a landslide, and was also represented by the most students - 15.

NB! Medals and trophies will probably be delivered to the best at the beginning of the new academic year, where they can be presented at a ceremony.
