Hello, This academic year, more students participated in the Mental Sports Olympiad than ever before. Let's start summarizing by subject, and the first subject is chess: This academic year, 650 students from 64 schools participated in chess tournaments. This is 91 students more than last year! The most chess players (42) were from Tallinn Old Town Education College. Let's summarize the results by age group: Primary School. 309 students from 50 schools participated in the competition at the primary school level. With a clear success (two first places and two second places), this age group was won by Andrei Dudakov Maardu Gymnasium. Second place was taken by Ott Oskar Lehes Tartu Erakool, and third place was taken by Kertu Karba, a student from the same school. The best school was definitely Jüri Gymnasium, which was represented by 23 children in this age group. Primary School 271 chess enthusiasts from 49 schools participated in the competition at the primary school level. First place (with two tournament wins) was won by Rondo Mikko Pärnu Mai School. Second place was won by Tormi Kull Jüri Gymnasium, and third place was won by Rasmus Pallum. Also in this age group, the best school title was won by Jüri Gymnasium, represented by 13 students at the basic school level Gyümnaasium At the gymnasium level, 67 students from 12 schools competed. Grete Olde from Tallinn Reaalkool won the competition with full marks (3 tournament wins out of 3). Second place went to Markus Hansson from Pärnu Koidula Gymnasium.
