In this regard, I need help with testing. If you have some time, you could check: 1) Does the invitation window behave as expected 2) Does the initial phase of the game (Swap2) with the color change work correctly 3) Does finding foil points work. At first, select to warn when finding foil points (otherwise you will have to create a new position on the board every time), but later try to see if black automatically loses when going to the foil point. If there are any problems with this, be sure to report the errors here. It would be great if the position of the board where the error occurred was listed for the foil points problem. The board could be presented in matrix form (as described here ) or simply a Screenshot of the board. You can check out Renju in the test environment here ! PS! So that you don't have to wait until someone enters the test environment, here's a little tip: Open the aforementioned Renju test environment address in two different windows. That way, you're in the game with two different innovators and can do some test games with these users. I'm waiting for your feedback :)!

The current opening rule of Renju "swap2" is incorrect. Swap2 rule: The first player places two black and one white pieces on the board (we call this the opening). The second player now has three options: 1) Continue the game with white (in which case there is no additional rule and the game continues normally: the first player with black, the second player with white). 2) Continue the game with black (in which case there is no additional rule and the game continues normally: the first player with white, the second player with black). 3) Place one white and one black piece on the board to balance the position. In this case, the turn is transferred to the first player, who chooses black or white pieces, and the game continues normally. Rule 3) is a so-called additional rule that distinguishes the swap opening rule from swap2. The idea behind it is that the second player has the opportunity to balance the opening and escape to another position. This is for when the second player fears that the first has set a so-called trap opening on the board and knows exactly how to play optimally with both black and white. This rule ensures that skills win more than preparation. The question is whether it is even necessary to apply the swap2 rule with renju in the first place. Experienced players understand its necessity, but perhaps simplicity is more important at first. There is also the swap1 option under gomoku. In this case, only fools would distinguish swap gomoku from renju. Since the opening rules are more understandable in swap1, renju would perhaps find more popularity. At the same time, absolute beginners still start playing regular gomoku and as they gain experience, they discover the necessity of the opening rules and perhaps the beauty of renju. I would like to play with swap2 rules against top players, but in a developing environment when involving new players, I think swap1 would be a better option. I certainly do not recommend adding several different opening rule options under renju. It would make things too confusing. I would also like to hear the opinions of others. Feeling

Understandable. After placing the first three pieces on the table, a window should open for the second player with 3 options: "Play with black pieces", "Play with white pieces" and "Place two more pieces on the table". Before running to implement it, I would probably really listen to other people's comments on whether the swap2 opening rule is justified in the vint.ee environment. The idea was given to me by Ants, who thought that such an opening rule could be in vint.ee. Unfortunately, I have not reached such a far point in my mental level that I can argue about the meaning of the Renju opening rules, so I can't contribute anything.

I also agree with user kulds that there is no need for several different rules under renju, otherwise it will be difficult for some users. Gomoku Swap1 with folios would be a better rule in my opinion, it would be an easier rule even for beginner gomoku players. In that respect, I completely agree with user kulds' opinion.

Hello from me too! My explanations to Marten regarding the opening rules of rendzu have been a bit confusing, I'm afraid. I thought about it a bit more and I agree with Tunnet - swap 1 should be primary, it's much easier for gomoku players to switch to it. However, Estonian top players won't be playing with each other very vigorously here, Tunnet can also knock me out at the table quite a bit :). When the English version comes out, swap 2 will also become more relevant (in addition to swap 1), because when playing with top foreign players, we would prefer swap 2. Wishing Marten continued enthusiasm :) Ants

Hello! I fixed the bug where white didn't win with six or more consecutive pieces. Now it wins :) The Renju test environment is still here . Best, Marten
